During our trip in Iceland, we stayed in many cottages and this was one of the good ones! The air in the room was fresh and the shared kitchen and bathroom worked great. Everything was also clean and the beds were comfortable. The host was also very helpful and gave us good tips for our next destination.

Super cabin exceeding all the expectations! Nice, spotlessly clean and equipped with everything what could be needed (even coffee capsules). Very comfortable, the interior was created with an eye for the practical details. The view is spectacular. We would love to return.

A beautiful and very modern cabin in a serene setting with almost no one around. Exceptional attention to detail with nothing left to chance. Excellent shower and bathroom. Very spacious, super modern even by hotel standards, with a really comfy bed. Top to bottom glass walls with beautiful views over the bay with seals (telescope included!) - watching them was great! Supermarket less than a 5 minute drive away. Hosts were wonderful. If you are the area and looking for peace and quiet, look no further - very highly recommended!

Gil Guesthouse is managed and run by a couple with the husband being the cook while the wife makes awesome bread! We were four couples and we took the entire wing which had four rooms and a nice living/ dining room outside of the rooms. It facilitated a nice, warm get together among us. The room was comfortable. Water was strong and heated. Our stay overall was comfortable and stress free. In front, you also get a panoramic view of the plains. The couple told us that one could see the Northern Lights in certain time of the year. If you want a place to have a good rest, a good meal and a good sleep before you move on to other areas of Iceland, you can get that at Gil Guesthouse.

The owner was amazingly helpful and friendly. She went out of her way to help us with a difficult situation. The rooms were beautiful. The dinner was restaurant quality and breakfast included was also excellent. Would recommend this place to everyone!
