The house was extremely clean, with all necessary things, also a small kitchen available with complimentary coffee and tea. A little cozy cabin with everything you need for a night away from the city but in a great location on the Golden Circle. The little kitchen is fully equipped to cook, and there is sufficient space for two or even three people, as there is a couch as well for a third person. We had a great time there and would definitely come back, as the price is very fair as well for Iceland!

We stayed in the guest house and absolutely loved it! The location is very convenient — almost in the center, and only about 1–1.5 hours’ drive to Reykjavik, waterfalls, geysers, and the beach. The place was clean, warm, and very comfortable. It had everything we needed — a hairdryer, straightener, a bean-to-cup coffee machine, a Ninja multi-grill, and a dishwasher. The living room has a stunning panoramic view — the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee with the sunshine ☀️ The Wi-Fi is super fast, too. It was also really thoughtful that the hosts provided shower gels, shampoo, conditioner, makeup remover wipes, and even some feminine products — such a nice touch! There’s also a hot tub with warm water, which was a great bonus after a day of exploring.

Reykholt is a nice little village on the golden circle.

Reykholt is a nice little village on the golden circle. It has a little grocery shop in the petrol station with hot dogs and ice cream. There are also the Mika and Friðheimar restaurants, both worth a visit. The outdoor swimming pool, playgrounds and sport facilities are fantastic for the kids. Take a short walk up to the top of the hill for some amazing views.

This is one of our favourite areas to book for weekends away...

This is one of our favourite areas to book for weekends away from Reykjavík. We enjoy the local hikes, waterfalls (and also Restaurant Mika!). With Secret Lagoon nearby as well as the Golden Circle being within a short drive, there is plenty to do. This visit we also checked out the Hrunalaug hot springs which were fab!

The Restaurant Mika was a welcoming place, since we were traveling the Golden circle late and were worried we wouldn't have anything to eat before arriving at the amazing Blue Hotel Fagrilundur. We thought the restaurant would close at 9pm on the Monday night, but we saw they kept letting travellers in well past 9pm. And the food was wonderful! And they accommodated my partner's gluten and sugar intolerance so nicely, by even cooking the potatoes on a separate pan from the others. We would come back to Reykholt and Restaurant Mika and the Blue Hotel again and stay longer!

A great location for visiting the Golden Circle.

A great location for visiting the Golden Circle. There are several good restaurants in the area (do a bit of searching online and always try to make a reservation). However, if you want to see more of Iceland, a spot a little further south (along the A1) is a good option. This will save you a lot of time and fuel.

The accommodation (Arbakki Farmhouse Lodge) is great.

The accommodation (Arbakki Farmhouse Lodge) is great. Reykholt is very small, but well located for a stopover. A visit to the greenhouse is a must. If there are no seats available, you can also take some ready-made tomato soup with you (heat it up in your accommodation – it's delicious).

What a beautiful house! Solveig, the host, was friendly and helpful. Everything was neat and clean. We were two very happy families, 4 adults and 2 children, and there was more than enough space for everyone. The house is well equipped and the jacuzzi and sauna were fantastic. Nice spot on the golden circle in the little village of Reykholt with its swimming pool, shop, restaurants, playgrounds, football pitches, greenhouses and more. Thank you!

Stunning house with very nice architecture in the north area of Reykholt, then not affected by light pollution. Super comfortable beds and a lovely living room with huge windows and great view on the countryside. Perfect base for exploration of the area, activities and handy position even to reach farther places in the south, or Landmannalaugar and Kjolur. The hot tub makes it a memorable time after fantastic dinners with lovely atmosphere

Our second time staying at Blue Cabins. Very clean and well equipped. We had a small issue with the shower, but this was fixed very fast. Recommend visiting nearby Frideheimer (tomato farm) for food and drink. Also, Mika restaurant.
