Such a charming hotel, oldest hotel in iceland! Lots of nice touches in the room we haven't seen anywhere else on our trip. Loved the hot tub and the friendly cat!

We had the house to ourselves! Which was absolutely unexpected but welcomed. The lobby was really cosy and the kitchen perfectly equipped. We love animals , so we felt very good on a farm. The host was really helpful! Booking app didn't send me important informations and for two days we had a problem with Booking services. The host was very kind and very helpful and made sure that we have everyhing we need. The hot tub was absolutely amazing, really hot which was great after a long day in the Icelandic weather. Thank you for your hospitality :)

This was our favourite stay in our one week tour of Iceland! It was comfortable, spacious and clean. The shower was powerful and the kitchen was fully equipped. It had the most comfortable bed too. We were even able to see the northern lights. The view was spectacular.

My stay at the guesthouse was a bit of a mixed bag.

My stay at the guesthouse was a bit of a mixed bag. On the positive side, the self-check-in process was a breeze, and I was pleasantly surprised by the level of cleanliness and the spaciousness of my room. The facilities, including the WiFi and kitchen, were top-notch, and I had no complaints on that front. However, there were a few quirks that left me feeling a bit unsure. The surrounding farm was somewhat peculiar, but I must admit that I'm not exactly an expert on farming, and I didn't book this place for its agricultural charm. The absence of any human interaction with the host was a tad disconcerting. It might not be everyone's cup of tea, and a friendly welcome or some local insights would have been appreciated. One noteworthy detail was the water quality, which had a distinct sulfur smell. While this might be normal for the area, it would have been helpful if the host had mentioned it beforehand. In summary, the guesthouse had fantastic facilities, but the lack of host interaction and the peculiar farm surroundings left me with mixed feelings. Plus, a heads-up about the unique water scent would have been a considerate touch. However, all in all, good to very good value for the money.

A pretty little town in the north of the island with very nice shops in the pedestrian zone. A good starting point for continuing on to the tip of the peninsula to the very pretty fishing village of Siglufjörður. From there, we continued on to the Húsavík region.

We arrived in the town after nightfall and left again at dusk. Overall, I'd say it's a nice little place, but one you can definitely explore in half a day. I wouldn't want to stay much longer.

A fishing port town.

A fishing port town. An excellent starting point for trips to other fjords to the West and East. There was no interesting restaurant, but that is the problem with most of Iceland, if hamburgers are not enough for you. But the nature and the magical fjords more than make up for it.

A charming and colorful little port with several restaurants, cafes, and an excellent bakery. The weather was terrible when I visited, so I'll come back when the weather is better. Horses everywhere...

The host was fine and the helper who let us in was very much appreciated. The only difficulty is that the wifi signal in this part of the world is variable and their well-timed messages had not arrived by the time we got there. Lovely quiet town with a small port and fish-processing plants. There is a fabulous restaurant at one of the hotels and, unusually, a great beer bar in town.

Loved this slightly eclectic, comfortable, cute hotel. Well-located. Immensely grateful to the lovely receptionist who kindly let us dry our clothes in the big drier as we had got absolutely drenched during a boat trip. A geothermal hot tub, gorgeous dining room, very comfortable bedrooms - what's not to like! Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed sauna and hot water tub option on the outside of the buliding. We found this one standing out in quality comparing to other guesthouses/hotels we visited in Iceland
