This is a great place to stay for a couple of days.
This is a great place to stay for a couple of days. The town is small but charming, and there a multiple day hikes close by. If you are doing the ring road, this might be a nice spot for two nights to rest up a bit. You might catch a glimpse of the Faroe Islands/Denmark Ferry that comes in once a week. This is a pleasant town in a strikingly beautiful location between mountains and a fjord. Apart from the surrounding beauty, the town is tranquil (out of season) and very walkable. We understand that things heat up during the summer season. There are a handful of restaurants and a well-stocked supermarket. During working hours the town suffers from strong fishy odors coming from the local fish processing factory. In short, it is a must-see stop on any tour of Iceland.Guest review byzevCanada

However, this hotel is willing to cancel the booking without charge. After the windstorm is over, we finally decided to move the check in date a day after with the consensus from the hotel. Other things that we like are the friendly staffs and the dinner is quite good. We've stayed in the Bank Inn instead. There was plenty of free parking, and the hotel was so centrally located in Seydisfjordur (walking distance to the rainbow street, the main reception and restaurant). The room itself was decorated in an antique-y style but was clean and the bathroom was very modern. The bed was very comfortable, there was a kettle with free tea and coffee, and we had a great view out to the mountain. The stunning lake and mountain views are truly exceptional, and it's also conveniently close to the famous little church.
