The cottage was extremely clean, there was everything you would need, we stayed 2 nights and we lacked nothing. Cottage also was pretty new and modern. The place was further from civilization but we knew about it and bought food in advance. Also as it is close Dyrhólaey Beach we managed to see lots of Puffins twice on the cliffs late in the evening. You could almost touch them!

The best thing about this property is that it is a private cottage with all the kitchenette and toiletries and very close to black beach. They even provide coffee machine with coffee, sugar, salt & pepper, oil to cook, bread toaster and water kettle. The owner of the property are also great with the most wonderful and friendly dogs ever. Just loved everything about this property.

You'll be staying on a farm with a large guesthouse. The surroundings are rural and easy to walk around. There are plenty of paths. The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff is very friendly. The restaurant is small but excellent. There's plenty to do in the surrounding area, especially in the nature area, but after two days you'll be done with it.

Good parking. Easy access. Shared toilet and shower, but sufficient. Very spacious and nice bathroom facilities. The room was very small and there wasn't enough space to hang clothes. Very good kitchen and very friendly staff.

A wonderful place for tourists along the south coast.

A wonderful place for tourists along the south coast. Nice rooms, well cleaned, friendly staff. Common areas were very fresh. We had dinner at the restaurant, the menu had a rather boring look, but the food was fantastic! The breakfast was good, there was almost everything you could want, however no hot food except porridge. Can highly recommend this place.

Sólheimahjáleiga Guesthouse is a cozy and lovely country house. We asked to give us a room with a mountain view, and the very friendly host gave us a room with beautiful windows with soothing views. We also had dinner there and every course was delicious and homemade. Same with the good and plentiful breakfast. At night we saw our first Northern Lights in Iceland and this place will remain in our hearts for that. For me it is a 10.

We stayed at 11 different properties during our trip to Iceland and this location was among my favorites. The design of the room was thoughtful and what made this property very comfortable was a shared kitchen/lounge that was furnished with anything that would be needed to make a quick meal/snack. The hotel was very clean and the continental breakfast was good.

During our stay at Sólheimahjáleiga Guesthouse, we were satisfied with the friendly staff who spoke to us during our arrival and provided us with information. The accommodation is ideally located for quick visits to Skogafoss & Reynisfjara Beach and is not directly on the ring road which makes it pleasant for sleeping.
