Slightly quirky, remote town, with an interesting harbour. A few good places to eat/drink, and plenty to see and do around the surrounding peninsula - national park, hiking volcanoes, whale-watching, and even trying fermented shark. Only a couple of hours from Reykjavik but this place feels...
Only a couple of hours from Reykjavik but this place feels very much away from it all. The roads in and out aren't the easiest depending on the weather. We visited in early April and got stuck in snow (twice!) on the way in taking the northern road then feared getting stuck due to road closures and difficult driving conditions on the way out but we made it. The place have dining room and kitchen downstairs which we used for family outstanding dinner! there is big supermarket nearby open from 1000-2000 and the kitchen is well equipped. (the only problem was that you need to wait for others to finish cooking or cook together. we used the washing machine as well for our laundry. the showers and toilet are public but quite clean and close to your rooms. in general, it was one of our best evenings in Iceland...!Guest review byRAFAELIsrael

The rooms are renovated, and beautifully decorated, which gave us a nice comfy luxurious vibe. The views from the room were amazing.
