Nice authentic guesthouse with every comfort you need. Friendly owner and really helpfull staff. Had a great local dinner and excellent breakfast. The quiet area with sheep running around makes it even more special. Excellent to discover Hengifoss and surroundings.

Clean room with comfy bed and a big cabinet. Clean bathroom just next door. Fully equipped kitchen. Good-natured host.

Hotel is located in a peaceful and beautiful place with good weather, which is kind of rare for Iceland. Decent room, very nice service at reception.

The authenticity of the house, a very good museum of life in the valley and around. The super diner with lamb or plokkfiskur. The silence and the friendliness of the people who works there. Very good breakfast. Also, if you take the diner our breakfast you are sitting together on 1 big table.

Downstairs of a lovely house. Loved the decoration and the hospitality and bread of Elsa. Bed was comfortable. 10/10 would stay here again. They had a microwave oven and a fully equipped kitchen 😍

The host springs are great. In general, it is a great place to stay overnight.

I love this property! The location was very close to the canyons. Although the space was small, it was cozy. Everything we needed for the night was available at the property. Shower was clean, bed was comfy, and there were storage space above the bed so its easy to walk around the cabin. Water was hot and wifi was great.

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about our stay in the Hengifoss lodge. It's a dream to stay here. Once entered you're greeted by the warm smell of ember caused by the wood that was used to make this house. The colours and the layout of the room is incredibly cosy. The fireplace keeps the house (almost too) warm, and the window + terrace give an exceptional view over the lake and mountains. The hosts are also amazing and gave us the feeling that we're not only welcome, but also that they really understand why we chose to go to Iceland. We asked for help with our fireplace and the host, Isabelle, came to the rescue. She tried to help us to lit a fire but to no avail. We did however have a really good conversation. However when she left, we were content enough. Yet still she knocked on the door and winked us to come over. She told us enthusiastically that the Northern Lights were dancing and fully visible, we had to come outside! The next morning it was kind of raining, a little bit. But the sun was also shining through the clouds. The husband, Steff, called me when I was standing on the terrace. He said: "There is a rainbow there!" and pointed towards slightly behind the house I was standing in front of. I walked to the side and indeed saw a beautiful rainbow. This might not say much to other people wanting to stay there. But to me it feels like these people have such a connection with Iceland, its beauty and understand that we are there for the same connection, they told us to look at beautiful views which Iceland offers, and we were delighted to follow their guidance. Thank you Isabelle and Steff, for the warm welcome. Whenever we're in Iceland and planning to go near Eggs, we will definitely make use of your beautiful little houses.

Great location, cozy apartment with stunning view, lovely hosts. The apartment has everything you need for one (or more) days. Felt like a hidden gem

Spotless and very comfortable spots, within a 10min drive to town for all the necessities. It was well stocked with all the equipment you'd need. We had a private cabin and had an amazing stay. Also nice dark curtains. Would definitely recommend this spot and any accommodation type here.
