Battipaglia is a city with a pulse!
Battipaglia is a city with a pulse! On the weekends the streets are teaming with people. Young and old flock to the many outdoor places for food and drink. There are tons of shops for those who love that activity as part of their trip. Exceptional coffee and Ground Zero for foodies who want to taste the true mozzarella di Buffalo you can put this on your list. This is the heart of this region. Between the pastries and the mozzarella it is a real eating adventure. Battipaglia is a relatively new city constructed after WWII. It is a bit gritty and doesn't have the glitz and glitter of Tuscany or other large cities that have managed to "dress up" for the tourist trade, but if you want to experience THE SOUTH it's worth the trip. 2-3 days in Battipaglia is an adequate stay for tourists. Freccia Rossa, the Italian high speed train now goes directly to Battipaglia. You can walk off the train and in a block's distance you find yourself literally in the heart of the city. You won't need a car and its proximity by boat to the Amalfi Coast is truly a great plus.
