Located in a serene spot overlooking the lake, the property offers a breathtaking panorama of crystal-blue waters and surrounding mountains—the kind of view that instantly washes away any lingering stress. The suites themselves are spacious, beautifully designed, and oriented to make the most of that stunning lakeside scenery. A standout feature was the breakfast service, available until 11:00 AM. The staff would bring a fresh, delicious meal straight to our suite, then discreetly return later to clear away the table—allowing us to savor our morning in total comfort. This level of personalized service truly underscored how dedicated the team is to making every guest feel pampered. The spa facilities were equally impressive. Between the calming atmosphere, modern amenities, and a variety of rejuvenating treatments, it was easy to spend hours unwinding and recharging. Whether you’re taking a quick dip in the pool or enjoying a moment in the sauna, you’re never far from those spectacular lake views. Overall, Aria Retreat & Spa is an idyllic escape for anyone looking to relax far from the bright lights and bustle of city life. If you value tranquility, impeccable service, and the luxury of waking up each day to postcard-worthy scenery, this retreat will not disappoint. We can’t wait to return!

The location is fantastic, very comfy and clean hotel. The rooms are big and clean, everything works. The staff is amiable and helpful. The breakfast is awesome. The receptionist called me a taxi when needed. The value for money is excellent. Strongly recommended!!!

We loved pretty much everything about this hotel. The location was perfect, with a private, not crowded beach in Lugano Lake, two swimming pools that were perfectly clean and well-prepared for the guests, and great service and food. I think it was also great value for money

Very good and friendly service from check-in to check-out. All staff (especially Manuel) where so kind and friendly and offered immaculate service. Restaurant was small and cosy with the choice of outdoor and indoor seating and again - fantastic service with foc snacks accompanying your drinks ... Great food as well - can recommend the wagyu steak - delicious. We will for sure be back to visit and look forward to this...

Our stay at Hotel Funicolare was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The location is incredible – perched high above, it feels like you’re among the gods when you look out your bedroom window. The views of the lakes and mountains are breathtaking, the kind you’ll never forget. The accommodation is spotless, with spacious rooms and large balconies perfect for sitting out, soaking in the scenery, and planning your day. Everything worked perfectly, and the cleanliness of the hotel was second to none. What really stood out, though, was the staff. Every single person we met was warm, friendly, and extremely helpful. They enjoy their work, which speaks volumes about how well the hotel is managed. The management team was also fantastic – attentive and genuinely committed to ensuring guests' best possible stay. The on-site restaurant was another highlight. It offered excellent value for money, a wide menu selection, and always fresh and delicious food. Breakfast deserves a special mention—it was generous, varied, and absolutely fantastic, enough to set you up for a full day of exploring. The hotel also has a rich history tied to the old funicular railway, which adds a fascinating layer to your stay. Talking with staff and seeing touches of this history around the property made the experience even more unique. Practical details were just as impressive: there’s plenty of secure parking for cars and motorbikes, and the location is excellent for exploring the region. With a car, we could easily reach Lake Como, Switzerland, and the surrounding villages, each full of charm, restaurants, and cafés. The roads in the area are well-maintained and made for enjoyable drives. All in all, Hotel Funicolare is absolutely brilliant. Whether travelling as a family, a couple, or solo, it’s the perfect place to stay. The value for money is outstanding, the comfort and cleanliness are faultless, and the atmosphere is second to none.

Everything was more than perfect. The family rooms are very nice. The location comes with a great view. The host was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast comes with frech orange juice and local bread and local cheese. Simply wonderful.

We had a wonderful stay here and Viviana was very friendly and thoughtful. We had to check-in late but it was no problem as she waited for us with a welcome drink and snacks! Next day, since it was raining, she even provided us with some rags to clean our motorbike! The dog was also very well behaved. The location was convenient to visit lake Como and other places nearby. Highly recommend!
