Mara provides the best breakfast I have ever had in Italy. Wonderful bread with a perfectly fried egg, frise with chopped tomatoes, hams, cheeses, 6 different different cakes and pastries, fresh fruit salad, thick yoghurt piped into a rose with strawberry petals, fresh orange juice and excellent coffee. She is a lovely hostess, friendly and knowledgeable and a great cook to boot. The room was comfortable and well decorated and I woke to a view of La Sentinella, the crag that looks down over Mara's B&B

A last minute decision to stop a night here had us not...

A last minute decision to stop a night here had us not wanting to leave, mainly because of the beautiful accommodation, food and people. We made the most of our short time here and walked down to the historic bridge ( devils bridge) amazing scenery and it was very peacful only us on the road and tracks. The town had a selection of restaurtants and we found a lovely spot to enjoy a beautiful meal and a fabulous bottle of wine. We wished we had more time to stay in Civiita however we had connections to make so moved on. I highly recommend visiting and staying at least 2 or 3 days and if you have a car exploring the area.

Civita is a charming village that still tells the story of...

Civita is a charming village that still tells the story of the Arbëreshë history and culture. Walking through the narrow streets, you can admire the famous talking houses. A hike to the Devil's Bridge and the Raganello Gorge is a must. I enjoyed good, authentic food: dried fruit, craft beer, bread, and, above all, goat, a must-try.

A village steeped in tradition and caring for the land.

A village steeped in tradition and caring for the land. The surrounding rock face is an extraordinary natural treasure. The food is excellent. It's not a good idea to drive into the narrow streets. It's best to park at the entrance to the village and walk. The village is small, and distances are short.

A beautiful village definitely worth a visit.

A beautiful village definitely worth a visit. Raganello is enchanting, with the Devil's Bridge (Ponte del Diavolo) towering over it. The Kodra houses, anthropomorphic houses that seem to speak to visitors, are distinctive.

A very pretty town.

A very pretty town. Both the old town and the newer center are noteworthy. The walk to the Devil's Bridge is lovely. It takes about half an hour on foot from the center. A perfect place for those who enjoy trekking.

A unique town where the traditions of the Albanian...

A unique town where the traditions of the Albanian communities in Italy survive. The charming chimneys and Kodra houses are a must-see. Hike to the Devil's Bridge. The town is located at the entrance to the Pollino National Park. Rural cuisine with excellent products (especially sweet bergamot)
