Giarre and neighbouring Riposto are unspoilt small towns with few tourists. We were the only foreigners wherever we ate. La Tavernetta was our favourite. The seafood market in Riposto was a perfect source for the meals we cooked in our suite. Driving in Sicily is fun as long as you copy the locals. It's a small town by the sea...
It's a small town by the sea... It's not very "touristy" but it's a perfect base to visit Taormina, the etna, Catania. Overall I would say it's more convenient then charming! Giarre is not a great tourist attraction.
Giarre is not a great tourist attraction. However it is a great center for touring East Sicily. We found it very strange that Sicilians keep to their siesta even in winter. After sunset when it got very dark and a bit cold, we did not feel like going to a restaurant (they open at 6 or 7). So we cooked our dinners. Good for us, bad for them.Guest review byCsabaHungary

I informed here I had 2 kids, a toddler and a baby and the apartment was fully complimented with toys and even a cake for our toddler. Fridge full with juices, fruit, water and yogurts. It was exceptional and we were not expecting that at all. They a very dedicated to the rental place and the lady will always check on you that everything is ok. We developed a close relationship with the owners which was a great start to our holiday. Already their hospitality upon arrival made a wonderful impression on us. Has a wonderful restaurant on site which was very busy on our night stay (a Saturday night in July) however the food was delicous and the views and atmosphere were just perfect. Turned out to be one of our favorite stops while in Sicily - would definetly return and recommed. Parking on site, just a few steps away from the room.
