A colleague and I stayed here for just one night, during a business trip in the area. Suffice to say that I’d love to return for a holiday weekend. It’s a small, privately owned hotel. My room was simply but beautifully decorated and furnished, and was comfortable and pristine. The hotel is fairly remote, so a car is a necessity to get to restaurants and bars. We went to a restaurant called La Prada, about 2km from the hotel, which was fabulous. The surrounding countryside is truly breathtaking, and I say that as someone who spends a fair amount of time climbing hills in the Scottish Highlands and the English Lake District. Hotel Il Crinale is a real gem, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure our short stay was perfect. I have no hesitation in wholeheartedly recommending the hotel to anyone who visits the area.

The B&B is located in a very calm surrounding on a hill. The owner spontaneously cooked a very delicious dinner for us, since we had a problem with one of our bikes on our way uphill and were unable to drive to a restaurant for dinner. However, you should tell her in advance that you would like to have dinner there so she can prepare for this. Also the breakfast was amazing and the host herself was one of the nicest we ever had. The whole building is furnished and decorated with so much love and detail. I would definitely recommend a stay, if you like good food and antique furniture.

The appartement Casa Vacanze Ca' di Lucchini in the tiny village of San Benedetto is a genuine gem. In the family owned house from late 19 th century, Stefano and his family have refurbished the appartement to tip-top modern standard We felt at home imidiately. On our arrival we were very well received in a personal and friendly manner by the host, Stefano, and his grandson. All though he was short of english and we only knew a handful of Italian words, we managed to communicate very well. During the stay we also spoke to his wife and brother - all of them lovely and warm people. The appartement has a personal touch, and is beauitiful decorated with a mix of mordern art, cozy decoration and old antique furniture. It has enough space for a family, and it was spotless clean and very well equipped for a long stay. The beds were very good, and gave us good nights sleep. And to top it of, the value for money is outstanding. The village is some 15 minutes drive off the A1 from Fiernze to Bologna, but its more that worth a detour if you are looking for a stop over, or want a base for exploring the area. Highly recommended.

Beautiful place, immerse in the nature, but easily reachable. Amazing view, very nice house with garden and very close access to trails in the surrounding forest. Stefano and Stefania are amazing hosts and make you feel like family!

The room was beautiful, very comfortable, with tea and water available, also bathrobe. Everything is done with care and attention to detail. Cinzia Is a great host, super available, with lots of knowledge about the places around which she happily shared with us. Breakfast is delicious, varied and lots of homemade cakes and jams.

Having both studied hotelschool and worked in several hospitality places we can say that this place is pure hospitality. From the perfectly clean bed- and bathroom to the cosy breakfast. But especially the genuine hospitality of the hosting couple, who were very flexible considering our last minute booking. The place is surrounded by nature and horses, has an authentic atmosphere and is near a restaurant where we enjoyed a great dinner. We highly recommend everyone to visit to enjoy Italy, the beautiful surroundings of this place and the genuine kindness of these wonderful people.

The couple who run the hotel and restaurant absolutely made my stay, they were wonderfully welcoming, helpful and fun. So much so that the few issues I would normally have (small shower, room decor etc) melted away under their charm. To be fair, they said that they are starting out and renovating as they go along so have plans to make changes to the rooms, which, to be clear were perfectly clean and comfortable. It was a great stay, great value for money, a lovely location and I would be delighted to come back and visit again.

The hotel is in a beautiful spot in the mountains/hills of the Bologna area. It is exceptionally clean and very beautifully decorated. The rooms were a good size and very comfortable. The host was a wonderful, friendly Italian lady who looked after us with lovely hospitality and communicated well with me beforehand. It was just a short stop over for us and perfect for what we needed, but I imagine also perfect if you want a longer stay.

We stayed for just one night but would love to return to explore more if this lesser known region in Italy. At the hotel we enjoyed great breakfast (yes the Italian classics sweet baked goods and cappuccino but also ham and cheese, eggs, musli…), and the Trattoria in the same road was awesome and a great recommendation. The view from our room was just lovely too. Beds were comfortable too -there was just nothing to complain about. :)

Beautiful location in the mountains, from the hotel and eating area you have a view over the valley which is stunning. We had a comfortable room and the welcoming of the owner was nice.
