A lovely little place with great amenities and activities for all. It is best known for it's hiking/walking paths, but it is also a bit of a mecca for cyclists. The village is small but well equipped with all the amenities. It's also within a 30-45 minute walk to Merano, either via the higher pathway (i.e. the Algunder Waalweg) or via lower streets. This lower area of Lagundo, where my hotel is, is not the best. There is another area of Lagundo, higher in the side of the mountain, with better view and nicer ways to take a ride. But Lagundo is often chosen to stay, because it's near Meran. Center of Meran is about 2,5 km from the hotel. Communal areas such as the balcony overlooking the hills and the lounge room with bar were an added bonus to the spacious room, bedroom separate to a seating area. Easy parking, beautiful garden and restaurant area both indoors and outdoors make this hotel a 'must stay'. We took a short walk into the nearby village where there are plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops. We loved this place; the outdoor pool with honesty bar, al fresco yoga classes with a fantastic teacher, shop stocked with local produce. The location is beautiful with a bus stop less than 5 mins walk away, serviced by a regular local bus service into Algundo and Merano. The setting is stunning with some great walks and hikes on your doorstep, depending how active you are.
