We went to Lucera specifically to meet extended family for the first time. Lucera is a beautiful little town, not at all "touristy" or frequented by Americans. It is located in the beautiful Italian countryside, about 4 hours southeast of Rome. As we found in all of the cities we visited in Italy, the food was spectacular---everything is very freshly prepared. It’s a nice city.
