Amazing view across the Santa Margherita bay with beautiful sunsets. Serena the host was very helpful, any questions you might have she does her best to answer and help. They live above the property but do not interfere at all, it really feels like having the place to yourself. Good parking on-site and very close to beautiful beaches and San Vito Lo Capo. We stayed in the 3 bed room house, the house stays cool and has a good A/C installed. Very clean and there were even basic ingredients in the cupboards and a nice bottle of wine waiting for us. Brilliant stay.

Not a whole lot in Macari itself but it is quiet and the...

Not a whole lot in Macari itself but it is quiet and the views are lovely. A good place to stay if one is in Sicily for the beaches and for hiking - convenient to many nice beaches as well as a couple national parks, and the town itself is at base of a ridgeline which has trails. San Vito Lo Capo is a quick drive down the road if one needs more restaurant options, or if one wants to visit a grocery store (there is a Conad a touch less than ten minutes drive in San Vito and another one the opposite direction and roughly same distance in Castelluzzo). I stayed in a small B&B both times I've visited but there are also a good number of holiday apartments on offer and at least one hotel. If one were considering San Vito Lo Capo, I'd strongly advise considering Macari instead as it is significantly less busy, much more peaceful.

Macari is a very quite village with a small local bar and...

Macari is a very quite village with a small local bar and pizza place and a couple of restaurants but no supermarket. However, there is a large supermarket just 5 mins drive away towards San Vito. The village has a lovely mountain backdrop and faces SW so there are always beautiful sunsets over the sea. The local beach is OK rather than anything special but certainly fairly quite. Macari is an ideal location for the climbing and walking the hills and nice and peaceful.

Great and peaceful place to rest and take a breath outside of big cities. There are fabulous mountains and beautiful bay with great beaches. Allthough when you're travelling not in high season, there are no restaurants and only one shop.

Macari was a great base to stay beacuse it was easy to ger around and visit San Vito, beaches, diffrent crags (rock climbing), shops. There is few things to do in Macari alone, but it is very beautifully located and quiet.

For those who simply love the sea and hiking, this is the ideal place. Macari offers nothing; you'll have to travel to San Vito lo Capo. Dogs traveling with you should be aware that there are many free-roaming dogs in town that can attack.

beautiful view of the mountains and the sea. Clean pool and very well maintained complex. San Vito lo Capo can be reached by car in a short time. In Macari there is a nice little but very good pizzeria, which can be reached on foot in a few minutes. The landlord is very friendly and tries hard and can be reached at any time with WhatsApp if any problems arise.

Casina Ponente was the perfect place to enjoy the area with the beach only 10 mins walk away and the climbing crags only 5 mins drive. The property has all the facilities you need and a lovely terrace and garden with sea and sunset views. There are places to eat in Macari and a large supermarket just 5 mins drive.

The hotel and rooms were very clean, the outside as well. The couple who owns it were friendly and accommodating. The views from the hotel were amazing and if you have a car, location is great as it is only 10 min drive to San Vito.
