Our hotel was placed in between Mascali and Riposto. We never went to Mascali but to Riposto. It’s old and run down. Whole town appears to close for siesta - check times before visiting. There is a faded charm to the town and a good long beach with some decent restaurants. We felt at home. Outside there is a large fenced garden, where our dog enjoyed it a lot. Wi-fi worked without any problems. The owner is very helpful and friendly. For the welcome we received sparkling wine, water and iced tea. From Mascali we visited Taormina by train. The ride takes 20 minutes. We drove by car to Mount Etna, which took about 50 minutes. Amazingly nice and open owners that will help you with everything and make you feel like home. Very comfortable apartments with all equipment needed.
