The family hosts (particularly the two daughters) spoke great English and went out of their way to help us and make us feel so very welcome. A small and welcoming village, ideal for those like me who need to unwind. Recommended for those coming from a busy city; there aren't as many bars or restaurants as you might sometimes expect for an August vacation, but the scenery and quiet streets will rejuvenate you. All the necessary services are available (market, wine shop, post office, etc.). Recommended for couples traveling together.

The location is beautiful. It's a very peaceful mountain village, but you need to be prepared because there's no supermarket or restaurants. A car is essential for everything: hiking, shopping, etc.

Fantastic place with breathtaking views both in summer and winter with the possibility of taking wonderful excursions and walks that are not necessarily demanding and therefore suitable for everyone. I didn't have lunch out but I bought delicious and genuine local products that encapsulate all the flavours of these places.

Fantastic view and very quiet. Very friendly host and good food, all home made by the owner. The facilities are indeed a bit dated as in other reviews, but everything is very well maintained, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. It is excellent value for money. There are many hiking routes to and from the hotel. Note that the hotel lies quite high and it takes about 20 minutes on a steep and curvy road to get there from the main road in the valley to Merano and Bolzano. It may be quicker to park in Vilpiano and take the cable car up.

This was my first stay at this hotel and, once I found it, enjoyed the experience very much. The room I was given was on the first floor with a good sized balcony with excellent views down the valley. Breakfast was a large (health conscious) buffet typical to the area and eggs to order were available. A great place for a short stop like mine or even a base for exploring the area.

The view from the living room down the valley is beautiful. Very quiet surroundings. There's a village with 2 decent supermarkets and 4 acceptable restaurants at a few minutes driving, bit except for 1 restaurant it's too far to walk. There is however a bus stop with an hourly bus service nearby the hotel.
