An excellent hotel in the city center, all objects can be reached on foot, all cities can be reached by train! Cozy, like at home, there is always coffee and snacks, excellent drinking water. Room was comfortable and the view of Montecattini Alto was stunning. The hotel is situated about a 10 minute walk from the centre and 25 from the train station. It's a pleasant walk along a boulevard through the park but it is slightly up hill on return. Really easy to get to the Aurostrada by car so you can explore the area. The Funicular upto Montecattini Alro is a short 5 mins walk round the corner & well worth taking the trip up for €1.50 each way. We had hired a car so parked in the small carpark across the road next to the tennis courts which was really convenient, although there was lots of on street parking available again. Hotel was very clean in the room & the communal areas, the decor is traditional in places with a twist of modern. The breakfast selection was great, there was full english, bread, pastries, fruit, cheese, meats and cereal. There was plenty of comfortable seating both inside & out. Hotel staff were all very friendly, the bar and reception are open 24hrs. Overall you can't go wrong if you stay here, it has everything you'd need, great value for money.

We had an amazing experience and just a short distance from home, for my son's birthday. From the moment we arrived, Filomena and the entire staff made us feel incredibly welcome. Tuscan Majestic Baths

Montecatini Terme has been known for centuries as one of the most famous spa towns in Italy. Located in the Tuscan province of Pistoia, the town started the process of building baths to contain the thermal waters at the foot of the Montecatini hill as early as in 1530.

The famous baths of Tettuccio, Bagno Regio and Terme Leopoldine were built in the 1770’s, during the rule of the Grand Duke of Tuscany Leopold of Habsburg-Lorraine. It was only at the beginning of the 20th century and after several changes of names that it started to gain fame as a popular resort.

New baths and spa hotels were built at Montecatini’s foothill, growing the quality of the services, and changing the conceptual approach. The baths were joined by Art Nouveau buildings, as well as a casino, theatres, restaurants and nightclubs. Famous intellectuals and artists of the time like Giuseppe Verdi and Luigi Pirandello could often be seen around.

    A good base if your a bit more adventurous and don't mind travelling by train. For example Pisa and Florence are both reachable by train but include changing trains at various places. Montecatini itself is a little run down in places with all the spa buildings closed. A nice little town square where a few bars can be found. Montecatini Alto is a gem reached by a funicular railway and Lucca (40 mins by train) is well worth a visit.

    A really lovely Italian town within an easy 40 min drive or 1 hr train ride to Florence, Pisa is also close as is Siena. A lovely town to use a base to see the rest of Tuscany and to come back to at night. We loved it!

    This city is very walkable with large parks and green spaces. Lots of shopping available in downtown area. The walk to the funicular to Montecatini Alto was lovely and through a beautiful park. Alto offers beautiful views and some historic insights. Unless you are spending time at the thermal spas, or touring nearby local cities, 1 to 2 days would be plenty of time.

    Beautiful town.

    Beautiful town. Tricky to cycle out of with busy traffic but drivers are respectful of cyclists. Well worth a visit. Good train connections also. Lots of lovely hotels and a laundromat which is always useful!

    Lovely place so much to see and excellent Train links to other places of interest eg., Florence and .Lucca to mention just a few . We would recommend Centrale restaurant for food snacks and drinks excellent service good value. And a visit to Montecatina Alto is a must.

    Beautiful setting and amazing views.

    Beautiful setting and amazing views. Great train links to Lucca, Florence, Pisa and Viareggio. Trip up to Montecatini Alto is a must very pretty town and the most amazing views. We slightly struggled to find restaurants in the evening we found that most restaurants served the same food.

    The location, room, and overall aesthetic of the hotel were beautiful. The room and bathroom were super clean and comfortable. I had the scallops and pasta for dinner one night at the restaurant, and it was honestly the best pasta I've ever had during my three visits to Italy! I also loved the jazz music playing, it added such a nice touch of elegance to the hotel. I was traveling alone for the first time and had felt a bit nervous about it, but I felt super safe at the hotel and would definitely stay again.

    The location. Lovely breakfast with huge choice, including eggs and bacon, a rarity in Italy! Excellent stop-over for us, half way between Rome and Cuneo in Piedmont. It allowed us to visit Pisa in the early hours of the following morning. That was positive as Pisa was quiet and uncrowded at that time. The staff are cordial and welcoming.
