If you don’t eat pork and shell fish then you eat a mountain of carbohydrates. We longed for something fresh. Overall a fantastic place steeped in history and Italian culture. Well worth a visit. The sea is spectacular and the water is so refreshing. We loved the pebble Beach in the New Town where there was a free section so we could enjoy a swim after our hike or bike ride. Monterosso al Mare is kept very clean and we felt safe. Nice walking paths and many restaurants and shops to see. Even though it is a beach town, you don't see many children. It's more of a romantic adult getaway spot. Restaurants are small and most seating is on the patio.
