We had the most wonderful stay at this beautiful home! Our hosts were two incredibly kind and friendly people. The room was comfortable and cozy, and every detail of the house was designed by the lovely couple with beautiful handmade furniture by Max. The breakfast was also very nice and the entire home radiated warmth and hospitality. It was by far our favorite stay in Italy, we left feeling very welcomed and we miss the place. Grazie mille for making our trip so special! 💛

Marvellous place to relax and explore the "campagna romagnola". They have a vineyard very close - good choice for the wine lovers! Modena, Imola, Vignola, Castelvetro di Modena, and so many other wonderful small cities and castles are close to the hotel in the wonderful surroundings. The personel is very helpful and attentive. Bologna airport is just 20 minutes away! We have been there two times, and for sure will return!

We were really touched by the warmth and hospitality of host Chiara in her ancient family home in which we felt so welcome and which Chiara shared generously with us. Casa Vallona is a less than 1 hour drive from Bologna in the midst of the Bologna Hills. It is in an idyllic setting and the farmhouse is set close to the vineyards and bee hives that Chiara and her family cultivate, along with several other crops. Inside, the living areas are a reflection of centuries of family life, remembered and celebrated by photos, furniture, household and farm utensils that encapsulate the spirit and the richness of the lives lived there by many generations. We enjoyed a fabulous lunch prepared by Chiara with produce grown on her land that included delicious pancakes made with chick pea flour, home made tortellini with ricotta and spinach, accompanied by her own red wine made with local grape varieties, and a mouthwatering pistachio semifreddo. Breakfast was a revelation: homemade bread with flour milled from locally grown wheat, cherry and plum compotes, Italian fruit torte, butter cake and an wide selection of little biscuits, all home made, were generously offered, washed down by locally made grape juice and of course, very strong coffee. We marvelled at how it was possible to run a farm, a guesthouse and do all this baking! Chiara's recommendations for what to see and eat locally were wonderful and much appreciated. It was a pleasure not to hear any cars or traffic and sleep peacefully. There are many walks in the area which we sadly could not do because of inclement weather but will keep for next time. When the sun did come out on our last morning, the views across the hills were glorious. Our thanks to Chiara and her kind family for hosting us and being so accommodating and inclusive in every way. Thank you too for welcoming us with such a sumptuous meal, so that we could avoid the rain. It was a privilege to experience something so authentic.

The scenery is beautiful, however, there are no particular sights or charming towns to explore in the immediate vicinity. A single visit is sufficient. It serves as a good base for visiting Bologna, Modena, or Maranello.

The entire property is beautifully and tastefully designed.

The entire property is beautifully and tastefully designed. The landscape and surroundings are lovely, the staff is friendly, and the cuisine is excellent. We would gladly return anytime, especially since we unfortunately had three rainy days at the beginning of May. Despite this, the room was comfortable enough to relax. It's more suitable for couples than for families with several children.

Monteveglio Abbey and the regional park are certainly worth a visit, even for several days, for nature and hiking enthusiasts. In the village, I highly recommend the "Trattoria del Borgo" restaurant.

This property is exceptional! The views are so breathtaking and the staff so hospitable that leaving the property to sightsee was actually difficult. The property is located near many wineries and an easy drive to Bologna and Modena. There are many fantastic restaurants nearby but the restaurant at the hotel is so good you really don't need to venture off. The entire property is very clean and comfortable. My entire group was very impressed with our stay!

The owner gave me a warm welcome when I arrived. The hotel is located in a very calm spot with a lot of nature around. The room was very nice and clean and included a TV, mini-fridge and private bathroom. All in all, the stay was very pleasant.
