Otranto has a charming, beautiful Altstadt. It has a wonderfully tiled big square along the harbor with lots of restaurants. The town's white washed houses are delightful. It has a nice cathedral with a huge, beautifully restord mosaic along the floor of the cathedral. Visiting the historic castello is advisable. So much to see and do, lovely, friendly atmosphere, with a beautiful port and castle and lots of wonderful restaurants to choose from! Excellent choice of restaurants both inland and on the promenade. Lots of shops selling local produce and souvenirs. Although the closest beach gets crowded there are other spots to swim off and other much larger beaches just up the coast . If you have a car. The castle is impressive and adds character to Otranto. Great base for exploring the southern tip of Italy with easy access to the main highways. The region was excellent but the town of Otranto we found overcrowded on Sunday evening. Full of tourists even on smaller side streets. Hard to enjoy although the location is fabulous. Better go there on weekday or off season.Guest review byJānisLatvia - 8.0

We stayed 5 nights. Overall we stayed 3 weeks in Salento. Otranto is a good base to visit key sites. We stayed in Gallipoli too for a few nights which was great (try the Sea Garden), but preferred Otranto overall - an amazing city/town.Guest review byAndyUnited Kingdom

The apartment was clean, cosy, very well appointed and had a lot of space; more than normal holiday apartments of a similar price. The staff were so helpful and really supported us to organise airport transfers, which beaches to visit etc. Special mention to Francesca from the spa; I can honestly say that was the best facial and massage I've ever had. The room had a balcony which overlooked an ancient building. There was also a heated towel rack which was very useful on the rainy day I was here. And totally unexpected, the room had mood lighting!
