The hotel is very close to the center and to the main stores. The staff was very polite, especially the lady who attends at breakfast. The room was clean and very warm. I liked the breakfast too, the coffee was very good. I appreciate that there is a TV, a small fridge and a hairdryer available. I consider the experience a positive one but I’m not sure I would still opt for this hotel on my next trip to Tempio.

Paola and Massimo are really nice, welcoming and helpful. They will surely assist with any problem you may have. The room was spotless and comfortable and the house is located really near the centre where you can find restaurants, shops and whatever you may need. There are plenty of free parking spaces near there as well. The cakes for breakfast were delicious. We totally recommend! ☺️

We spent two weeks in Italy, sleeping in areas such as Rome, Naples, the Amalfi Coast and finally Sardinia. We can confirm that our stay in Al Veccio was by far the best for the following main reasons: Excellent location, about 50 minutes by car from the Costa Smeralda and Olbia airport. It is about 1 hour away from Alghero. The accommodation is located in a very picturesque village, with very friendly and hospitable people, which is a contrast to the more touristy areas such as the Costa Smeralda. Regarding the accommodation, the room was very spacious and very clean and the bathroom was large and very functional. The breakfast was the best of all the accommodations in Italy, with bread, cappuccinos, fruit, natural yogurt and cereals. Final it is mandatory to mention the great sympathy and availability of the owner, who made our stay unforgettable. We highly recommend this accommodation in Sardinia.

The property is beautifully presented and the rooms looked liked they were newly furnished. We could not fault them. The breakfast had to be seen to be believed, a large table filled with a variety of foods, many which were home made. The host was great and deservedly proud of her accommodation and how it was presented. The location enabled easy walking to all parts of town. I can highly recommend.

One of the best apartments we have ever rented. Literally nothing was missing: easy parking in the street, supermarket just around the corner, nice old city center in walking distance, quiet situation. And as the name says: nice and very spacious. Tempio sits on a hilltop overlooking the granite peaks...

Tempio sits on a hilltop overlooking the granite peaks behind Aggius in the west and Monte Limbara to the SE; it is a mix of old and new, the core characterised by a warren of small narrow streets hemmed in by granite-built old-style houses, many with balconies. The lanes are studded with bars and small restaurants and offer some coolness to escape the summer sun. The cobbles would be a challenge to high heels, but the core is quite small and walkable easily. Local food is really good, from pizza (Il Trenino), to light lunches (Living) and the more traditional Sardinian dishes (Trattoria La Gallurese - order the snails/lumache); bars are cheap and service is mostly great (Living, New Chopin, Caffe' de Piazza), although one or two places are glacially slow (Bar de Museum - but fantastic pasta!). It seems a very happy town and the locals that somehow understood my broken Italian were welcoming and many spoke some English to help me out. There are numerous small and large parks affording shade and tranquility and to outer this, there is a bar - Risen - that caters for the young and plays plenty of party music, which was fun, but I didn't last until the advertised 4am closure... We had originally booked into the Pausania Inn, but left after a night and booked into the New Petit Hotel: a friendly place with smallish rooms but with great views over Aggius and just on the edge of the old town, so perfectly located for accessing the town without a 1.75km walk from the other hotel.

Tempio has an attractive old town.

Tempio has an attractive old town. There was a music festival the night we were there, so it was hard to find a table in a restaurant and very loud. We particularly liked the agriturismo style restaurant next to the Nuraghi Maiori, about 2km North of town. The pipistrelle bats in the Nuraghe had just had babies. Tempio stays cooler than the rest of Sardinia so it’s good place to go in a heat wave.

A fascinating historic town away from the more popular...

A fascinating historic town away from the more popular beaches and resorts. With quaint streets and shops it has the feel of a place yet to be spoilt by tourists. Pedestrianised areas allow you to focus on the history as you walk the streets and sample the many little bars and restaurants. Probably not a place to stay if you are looking for night clubs and discos, but more of a traditional Sardinian town.

It could be a holiday in the coastal area, for those who love nature and walks through small villages like Aggius and Tempio, with their typical Gallura traditions and notes. I really liked L'Agnata, where we had lunch and enjoyed typical Gallura dishes. We also received warm hospitality there.

It exceeded our expectations.

It exceeded our expectations. We weren't quite sure what to expect, but when we strolled through the town, we found it incredibly charming. The center is beautiful, with a medieval feel, stone houses, a great atmosphere, and restaurants offering excellent value for money. We were pleasantly surprised.

Lovely place in the centre of Tempio Pausania. We just stayed for one night, so it was nice that it is close to all the restaurants and shops. The room was clean and had a coffee machine and water in the fridge.
