We instantly fell in love with this cozy little town. Close to Venice yet so different, Treviso charmed us with its canals, picturesque streets, historic center, and the vibrant atmosphere created by its young population. It truly stole our hearts. Everything in Treviso is within walking distance. The shops are plentiful. There’s lots of gorgeous little bars and restaurants and cafés. I could spend the whole year here just going into each & every one! There just was not enough time. The only thing I would say is that the Italian waiters could do with some coaching when it comes to being friendly to foreigners. We did notice that they pour smaller drinks for foreigners than they do for locals but if you keep drinking in their restaurant. They then give you more than your first glass! We visited Treviso from August 6 to August 13.
We visited Treviso from August 6 to August 13. During this time the city was quiet, peaceful, and not crowded. It is clean and charming, which is actually a rarity in Europe. The only downside is that the shops close too early – it was impossible to go shopping during the day because of the heat, and in the evening, when it became cooler, everything was already closed. We stayed for one night since we had to catch an early flight from Treviso airport. Perfect location. Very convenient position for central station, for the bus to the airport and a 10 minute walk to city center. The interior of the hotel is more like a "retro style" but very well kept. The rooms are large and very clean, with a lot of towels, extra amenities, comfortable large bed, extra pillows and even pairs of slippers.
