Our stay at Al Convento was truly life-affirming. A beautifully restored former monastery. This place with its beautiful architecture, stunning mountains, and the unimaginable beauty of the Sicilian San Mauro Castelverde offers a wonderful stay full of character and rich history. We stayed in a 2 bed apartment for 7 nights. The apartment was lovely. With amazing sea views. The hotel was great, we enjoyed using the pool and had breakfast some mornings. The hotel staff were friendly and relaxed. We wanted a holiday to immerse ourselves in Sicillian culture and we got that..The town is not too touristy. The beaches are quiet, with clear water and stunning views. The local restaurants and Gelataria are wonderful. We were able to use the train for day trips to Cefalu and Capo d orlando.

The moment you arrive you feel like Cherubina and Giacomo welcome you into their home like family. Beautiful, picturesque location, delicious food, and wine, and the moon and sun shining through your window. One of our favorite stays during our week in Sicily and wish we had one more night there!

We loved our stay at Sunset Breeze. It’s not the newest or shiniest property, but it’s clean, well equipped, and in the most fantastic position. We enjoyed dinners on the rooftop terrace, and early morning swims a minute away from the apartment. Mariella welcomed us to the property with olive oil and fresh lemons from her garden. She was so helpful at every stage of our stay, and her attention to detail and kindness were an absolute delight. Castel di Tusa is peaceful and charming, and we hope to return for longer next time.

We loved absolutely everything. The property is located in lovely and safe village with few min walking distance to grocery shop and restaurants. Communication with the owner was very good and she was very responsive and nice. The apartment was very clean and well equipped with gorgeous view to the sea.

    Castel di Tusa (not Tusa, which is in the hills) is nice...

    Castel di Tusa (not Tusa, which is in the hills) is nice enough as a town, keeping in mind it has a rock beach and is not particularly geared towards tourism (e.g. sports facilities, child-friendly facilities). The people in town are lovely: we made friends with various owners and managers of bars, lidos and restaurants and nearly all of them were delightful and helpful. In particular, hats off to the owner and staff at Onda Blu restaurant (decent food at decent prices) and the Mezzo Limone lido (nice sandwiches, the main dishes are expensive). We also loved Porto Marina snack bar (the granitas and sweet ricotta-filled brioches, both made locally, are DELICIOUS) and to Nasone ‘rosticceria’ which like Porto Marina is great for breakfast (no granitas though) and for cooked food to take home or on a picnic). But thumbs down to Grotta Marina: owner was rude and the food was indifferent and expensive.
