A City to Fall in Love With

Renowned for its romantic charm, the entire city of Venice is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Spread across 118 islands, formed by 177 canals and connected by 409 bridges this city is truly magnificent.

Its breath-taking architecture and spectacular art entice millions to experience its history and beauty every year. From San Marco Square with the Doge’s Palace to the lively Jewish Ghetto, Venice can be both opulent and down to earth.

Visit the Rialto Market and the charming Rialto Bridge and then take a gondola ride through the canals before learning how Venetian and Murano glass is made. The city’s churches, piazzas and museums are all worth a visit and can be easily reached within a short walk.

The Venetian Carnival is an unforgettable experience, with or without a mask. The latest trends in modern art are on display at the Venice Biennale and Italy's cinema take center stage at the world’s oldest Film Festival.

Buses and boats run from Marco Polo International Airport and Treviso Airport to the city centre. From luxury hotels, to comfortable B&B, to self-catered apartments, Booking.com has great accommodations for your Venice trip.

I have been to Venice 3 times and my wife and family still want to go back Pace of life there is lovely, interesting to see how the city works with boats moving bedding and supplies in the early morning around the city. So many nice places to eat, too many to mention. Very easy and quick to walk around. Well worth the cost of going up the Camponile tower to get overhead view of the whole city, Grand Canal is fab, Rialto bridge is a lovely place to eat and watch the world go by. Doge's palace, St Peter's Basilica also good. 2 x classical concerts in Chiesa di San Vidal listening to Vivaldi were stand outs over a couple of trips. Booked through Clasictic.com. Will go back again before is sinks into the sea :(

Do your research before and be careful using river taxis, they are expensive. The river bus is great value and goes everywhere. Care with giving tips. Service charge is often included. Don't do it twice.

Great to see St. Mark's Square at various times.

Great to see St. Mark's Square at various times. We went to Vespers in the evening and Mass in the morning. Along with listening to Rick Steves audio this gave us a nice experience with the Basillica. Also to take the Grand Canal several times (us with RS). Our skip the line and audio guide visit to Doge's Palace gave a nice overview of history....

An incredibly unique and beautiful city, our favorite in Italy. The museums and cathedrals are very special.(Don’t miss the Frari church). And the food was terrific, with of course pasta but many unique Venetian dishes as well. Side trip to Murano to see glass made was also special. Perhaps the only negative were the crowds in St. Mark’s and Rialto.

Great city for solo travellers, I always felt safe thought of course usual rules apply re watching bags etc. on public transport and in busy places. Best times to enjoy Venice are early morning or evenings as its so busy during the day. Favourite places this trip were the Campanile in St. Mark's with great views over the city and the historical Murano glass exhibition on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore.

Some of the locals I encounter, employees, are very rude, mean. Had one man hit my niece’s arm, screamed at us, made us leave. I want to take sweatshirt out of bag to get better look. Sure he was just having a bad day. Beautiful city, some of the best food I have ever had! Glad I could mark it off my bucket list.

Casa Pusterla was the best choice of our visit in Venice. the apartment is spacious and fully equipped with everything one may need. it is located a few steps from the Bianalle in the loveliest quiet neighbourhood. The hosts Flavia and Marco waited for us at the vaporeto station and provided all the necessary information. better than any 5 stars hotel (as far as we are concerned)

It was the most comfortable and beautiful little boutique hotel. We even got a free upgrade with private garden area. It felt super quiet and chilled there. The best area in Venice..less touristy and amazing little cafes, restaurants in easy walk distance. Really friendly owners and all round authentic and romantic little gem X .

Hotel was clean and staff was very nice. Good location, great coffee bar across from the hotel, lots of restaurants and shopping in the immediate vicinity. Best prices on leather that we saw throughout Italy!

The room was nice, the location was fantastic and the breakfast was awesome. The coffee taste just the way I won't it and it's the best of all hotel I stayed in Italy.
