Vernazza is charming and lovely with it's colored structures and ocean smashing against the rocks of this tiny port village. We went at the end of September, and it was still a bit crowded with tourists and sourvenir shops and restaurants along the walking strip. If you've never seen anything like this, you'll probably enjoy it. We, personally, found it not as impressive as Burano in Venice, which has MANY mult-colored homes and lovely walking areas along the water with canals that were much less touristy and truly more charming!! All of the restaurants were absolutely OUTSTANDING! The very freshest seafood. And all of the homemade pasta was so very delicious. Leisurely pace. We stayed in Corniglia as it was the middle village of the 5...
We stayed in Corniglia as it was the middle village of the 5. This enabled us to walk to one or two villages in either direction and then return by train. Unfortunately, Corniglia is the only one of the 5 not to have a landing for the boats that travel up and down the coast. The train fare is the same irrespective of the distance travelled. All the villages are exceedingly difficult to access by car with twisty narrow roads and the need to park outside the village and walk in having paid Euros 20 to park for the day if you were able to find a space. Super relaxing. no cars, no other traffic.
Super relaxing. no cars, no other traffic. A place to get the real Italian vibe with amazing cafe in the morning and strolling around the place is just perfect. It's small and charming and everywhere we went it was fantastic, friendly with kind and hardworking people. La Torre Restaurant was mindblowing. They had a power out in half of the city that day and still cooked for us with mobil flashlight and gas stove. We loved the quaintness of vernazza. No cars etc around.we had 5nights and wandered to all villages.the little supermarket is very small and hours not the greatest but plenty of places to eat.during day may be busy but morning and late afternoons were fabulous.there were free concerts on too in the square which were delightful.cann enjoy takeaways on the rocks with beautiful viewsGuest review byCatherineNew Zealand

The apartment is in the heart of Vernazza right above the main square overlooking the bay, you are literally steps from the beach. The place is very well kept and equipped. The bed was also very comfy. It was a convenient location being just 100m from the train mainly down hill on arrival, making it easy with luggage and not many stairs, which is hard to come by in Cinque Terre. Lots of restaurants/cafes/shops nearby. Great base for exploring the cinque terre as you can hop on the train to the other towns. Also great base if you are interested in hiking as you can hike to Monterosso and Corniglia. The view from the terrace was amazing.
