Vicenza offers a great deal to the visitor who enjoys leisurely strolls through beautiful, well-kept historical neighborhoods with interesting architecture (especially Venetian) and museums as well as excellent restaurants and cafes. The Olympic Theatre is a must as well as a walk in the hills just outside the city where the Villa Rotonda is located. The Piazza dei Signori, flanked by the Palladio Basilica, is a pleasant place to have a coffee or a meal. The accommodation is located in an apartment block & the owner has a shop down stairs (Kasinova). the location is good, in the city centre & close to most attractions. The apartment has a full kitchen, equipped with full size fridge, dishwasher , cooktop & oven. Has a large aray of cooking utensils & cutlery. Apartment is spacious, extremely clean, modern & comfortable. Bedroom a good size, bed & pillow comfortable, bathroom with shower and good water pressure. You pick up the key from her shop downstairs, be aware check-in is at 4pm & the shop usually shuts from 1.30pm to 4.00 pm, so you can't get in during this time. They will store your bags if required when you checkout, but you can't pick them up between 1.30pm & 4pm. The apartment has good air-conditioning. It is lovely, like the majority of Italian cities. I liked the food, the climate and the church of Santa Corona, with a beautiful painting of the Baptismo of Christ, by Giovanni Bellini, painted between 1500 and 1502.. It has been considered by Art critics as one of the five most beautiful paintings in the world. Vicenza is a lovely small town in Italy and a very good base for exploring the Veneto region with great connections from the centrally located railway station - I used it as a base to visit Padua, Chioggia, Venice, Treviso, Citadella, Bassano del Grappa and Verona. Loved the restaurants and all the easy to walk to sights. Also an easy walk to the train and bus terminal! And a 20 min walk to their ER hospital which I had to go to because I fell and fractured my wrist. I was given amazing kind professional treatment and yes you have to wait in the ER for some time due to how many people are before you however it was worth it to receive such care and economical care too. The bathroom was modern, clean, and surprisingly spacious, which was a real highlight. Breakfast was very good with a nice variety, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful. However, the room itself felt a bit small, and the working table wasn't ideal for getting much done.
