Cosy and well stocked apartment in the heart of a traditional community, with all necessary appliances and products available in the bathroom/kitchen. Location is great, with eateries/shops and a mosque all in close walking distance. Very friendly and hospitable hosts who reserved the entire apartment for us and adjusted our check-out time at no extra cost. Wifi also worked well in the main room.

We were two friends travelling around Jordan and we initially booked 1 night at this family place, but the experience was so nice we eventually changed our plans to go back there for another night. We were introduced and welcomed in the kindest way to the family, we shared there the best Jordanian meals and watched most beautiful sunsets. We received recommendations for places to visit on our way and local products to buy when back in Amman. Our stay in this house was very authentic and beautiful (ok, next to wadi rum ;) ). It was a really amazing experience worth every minute spent there with them and if we are back to Jordan, we will definitely hope to visit them again. Definitely book it if you are looking for a great hospitality and original, authentic experience.

Very impressive castle to visit, the opening times were longer than our book said apparently. Could do with signs telling which is which inside. Nice also to have a look around town and grab a schwarma from one of the little stands near the fruit/veg markets and sweet from the nice bakery.

Kerak is a lively town built around the Crusader castle, one of the best preserved in the Levant. Some key events of the Crusades took place in and around Kerak. Unfortunately, we were only able to visit the castle due to time constraints, but we would have loved to visit the surrounding area as well.

The fortress is impressive, and you could wander around it for hours because it's so vast. As for the views from the ramparts, you understand why this location was chosen by the builders; you overlook all the surrounding valleys and hills. However, we would have appreciated some explanatory panels during our visit.

Besides the castle, Kerak has several other attractions.

Besides the castle, Kerak has several other attractions. Unfortunately, there is no information available (tourist map of the town and surroundings, brochures). The "tourist office" is limited to selling tickets. The old town has many small, picturesque shops – but hardly any restaurants (these can be found on the hill opposite).

The photo is real but very misleading.

The photo is real but very misleading. It's a slumlord; the owner isn't present on-site, you have to call: no answer until late afternoon. The price is high for what you get. The town is nice, but the fort doesn't warrant more than 2 hours of your visit; don't miss the small, very informative museum at the exit.

Rude people near the castle, instead of helping, charged a hefty fee for a lousy dinner. The booked accommodation couldn't be fulfilled because it turned out the facility didn't exist! I don't recommend it. The terrain is difficult to climb, dirty, and there are almost no attractions. A typical, dirty Arab town. I will never visit such places again.

location was excellent - right next to the historic Al Karak Castle. I loved the small town feel and vibe of the place, we walked around and did some shopping as well. Breakfast was good, served a bit late
