Mohammed was a great host from the start. He explained everything clearly and never said no to any requests we had. The chef also deserves a special mention (completely blanked on him name, sorry) as the food he prepared for breakfast, lunch and dinner was spectacular.

Everything was great here. I really recommend to book at least one night here. Atmosphere in the camp was very good and friendly, dinner and breakfast were very tasty and there was a vast choice of food, our accomodation was clean and had everything we needed. Just maybe hair drayer was missing but it is nothing we could not live without. :) Overall it was an unforgettable staying and you have to experience it, when visiting Jordan!

Wadi Rum is best experienced by staying at Wadi Rum Desert...

Wadi Rum is best experienced by staying at Wadi Rum Desert Adventures - as it's the camp furthest into the desert. You will recognise the scenery from so many films, and the reason is that it's simply stunning. You will be driven through the red sands by Mharm in his 4X4 to the comfortable camp, which has the right balance between comfort and adventure.

Wadi Rum is a truly fascinating place, full of raw, authentic beauty. The local people are extremely friendly and welcoming, offering camel rides and traditional Jordanian tea in their tents. The views are spectacular, with pristine landscapes that feel untouched. It’s no surprise that many famous movies—like Star Wars and Dune—were filmed here. A memorable destination worth visiting.

From the moment we arrived at Al Sultana Luxury Camp, Rami...

From the moment we arrived at Al Sultana Luxury Camp, Rami made us feel completely at home. His warm welcome, professionalism, and genuine hospitality stood out immediately. He personally helped us settle into our room, handled our luggage with care, and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. What truly impressed us was how effortlessly he managed to arrange a last-minute Wadi Rum tour for us — and when I say last-minute, I’m not exaggerating! Within minutes, the truck and driver were ready, and we were off on an incredible adventure through the desert. Rami also went the extra mile with small gestures that made a big difference — from helping us wrap our scarves perfectly for the desert wind to making sure we always felt comfortable and cared for. Every request was met with a smile and handled right away. Thanks to Rami, our stay at Al Sultana Luxury Camp was smooth, memorable, and full of warmth. I’ve already recommended this camp to my friends, family, and colleagues — it’s an experience you don’t want to miss, especially with someone as dedicated and kind as Rami ensuring your stay is perfect.

Advice for Future Visitors to Wadi Rum

Advice for Future Visitors to Wadi Rum Be cautious and do your homework before your trip. Unfortunately, there are many misleading practices, so here are a few tips to help you avoid unpleasant surprises: Verify the camp location before heading to the visitor center. Some camps are outside the protected area, which may affect fees and access. Review room details carefully, especially if you're expecting a bubble room or other specific accommodation. Pictures can be misleading. Ask for a full breakdown of all charges—including transportation, activities, and upgrades—before confirming your booking. Watch out for hidden fees and vague pricing. Transparency is not always guaranteed, so it's best to clarify everything in advance. Stay informed and alert to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.

If possible, we would like to give Desert Bird Camp even 15 Points! Everything was perfect! Tawfiq is the best and funniest host you could imagine. Mahmoud made the best food, we had during our whole stay in Jordan. Tawfiq's brother showed us Wadi Rum in a perfect Jeep tour. The tents and the bathroom were very clean. Here you can feel at home for a few days staying in an amazing surrounding. Thank you for a perfect stay in Wadi Rum! 200% recommendation!

The tour through Wadi Rum with Mohamad and his family was the highlight of our Jordan trip. We spent 2 days and one night - on the first day we explored the main sights of the desert on the second day we did a longer hike with only few other tourists. We got cooked delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner. The night we spent with sleeping under the stars - which was an incredible experience (we preferred that to a staying in a camp).

Wadi Rum is a must-visit location for any traveler in Jordan. An exceptionally gracious and hospital band of brothers run this remote desert outpost. Sand and Stone is as close to an authentic Bedouin camping experience as one can get, an antidote to the more consumerist lux-bubble glamping.
