Everything about our stay was just perfect. From being picked up at the train station, delicious homemade meals with records playing in the background, a beautifully appointed home, friendly and helpful hosts, riding through the countryside on electric bikes and being driven to & picked up from Koyasan. Such a special experience.

The area was beutiful with some lovely walks. Great for a relaxing time. The host realy went above and beyond. I don't think there is a walkable shop but the hotel is also a restaurant.

Great place to stay for Koyasan with very friendly hosts and a good location to start exploring. There is also a restaurant in the same building which we recommend highly. And if you still need anything a Family Mart is just a brisk walk away.

The warmth and openness of the monks and staff, the clean and elegant interiors found in the entire property, delicious shojin ryori beautifully presented in the room, purposeful guided meditation in a beautiful hall, the ceremonies with the strong and beautiful voices of the monks - all of these combined made for an unforgettable stay at Ekoin. Meeting Nori, Se Shiu, and all the other monks was one of the highlights of our trip; they made us feel really welcome anytime we met and were happy to answer our questions with insight and thoughtfulness, making it look easy when in fact they were always busy with keeping things in order. They also guide guests during the Okunoin Cemetery night tours and imbue it with a lot of meaning.

The village is small, in the forest in a very beautiful place. The real flavor of the Japanese hinterland. Clean air. Everything is very beautiful. The most beautiful thing is the married couple who own this house. They are both wonderful and responsive people. They solve absolutely all the issues that arise. Great workers. Thank you.

It's a very small village nestled in the mountains, so it's quiet and there aren't many restaurants nearby. However, the meals prepared by Guesthouse Fuki are excellent. They make everything from scratch, and the taste is exquisite. Traveling on your own might seem a bit challenging due to the mountain roads. However, they picked me up at the station by car and took me to the next stop, so I had no trouble getting around.
