Walk distance to the station and some very good local restaurants. The facility is very good with open bar and free snack station. The bath house is very big and provides free drinks when you finish the bath. Everything is great.

The hotel was quiet and elegant in every way. I loved all of the automatic sliding doors and the modern, clean aesthetics. The staff was so friendly and helpful, and even arranged for a taxi to pick us up the morning we checked out. The room was beautiful and spacious, and the onsen was clean, relaxing, and quiet.

Unbelievable hotel it was so relaxing and perfect. The dinner and breakfast made you feel like royalty. Everythjng is fresh and made with such care. We weren’t expecting the breakfast to be fancy and it was! The private onsen is amazing as well

Pictures simply cannot do this place justice. It is incredibly beautiful, every corner of the hotel was well curated and designed. The service was absolutely incredible. We had a couple of things we needed assistance with and Reiko and Yuna were always available to help our group. Everyone was just so kind! There are literally hundreds of cocktails to try and everything we had was great. This was honestly the most magical hotel I’ve ever stayed in, just unreal attention to detail and service. Thank you so much, barhotel!

Hakone is a lovely relaxing spot to stay after the bustle of Japanese Cities. We chose to stay here for a few days at the end of our trip, which was perfect. Definitely try one of the local Onsens - even if you feel a little uncomfortable about it - this was possibly the best part of our trip. The Hakone round trip is also great.

I didn't get further than Gora.

I didn't get further than Gora. I found it to be overcrowded and was glad to leave. I intended to spend some time in nature, but there are too many traffic jams and people. I was there on a Monday so I can't imagine what it would be like on the weekend. There are probably areas that are quieter, there was hard wind so the cable car didn't go and that led to more people driving up in cars and buses. I didn't have the Hakone Free Pass so I could just get on any bus and I was glad for that because there were a lot of people at bus stops who couldn't get into a bus because of their Free Pass.

A quiet town but buzzling with Tradition and History.

A quiet town but buzzling with Tradition and History. The food is amazing and the Onsen's are good. Biggest Challenge here is the transport. I recommend renting a car here especially if you want to go to neighbouring areas like Shizuoka, Fujikawaguchiko and Kamakura so see Mt. Fuji.

Loved the Open Air Museum -- great sculpture garden. And it has a foot bath, because why not? Nearby we stopped at the Gyoza Center, which was delicious. We did the Ropeway, and were delighted by the whole active volcano thing. There's a foot bath there, too. My feet have never been so pampered. With more time, I would have taken a ferry on the lake, and/or trained around to the other parts of Hakone, which is actually more spread out than I fully appreciated. I know people do Hakone as a day trip from Tokyo, but I think it was quite fun to stay and experience the full effect of hot springs culture.

The cable car ride up and over the volcanic fumaroles

The cable car ride up and over the volcanic fumaroles then down to Lake Ashi, and a boat trip across the lake. The parks, gardens and the cedar lined old Tokkaido Edo period road A reconstructed gatehouse and one of the old 17th century "Stations" on the Tokkaido. Fantastic views of Fuji san. One of the highlights of my trip

Second time to Hakone.

Second time to Hakone. Cool town and even better is the Hakone Freepass. For around $30 you get to ride the Tozan Train, Cable Car, Ropeway and Sightseeing Cruise! Incredible value - buy at train station or online. Don't miss the black ice cream or black eggs at the halfway stop along the Hakone Ropeway.

The space - the hotel is stunning, a perfect blend of traditional and modern, an experience in itself. The breakfast was very good, even though it felt a bit more western. We also enjoyed the welcome drink. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Managed to book the private onsen (for a very reasonable price!) which was nice after doing the whole Hakone loop. The location was also great, a 10minute walk from the Hakone-Yumoto station. Appreciated the possibility to use the lockers even after checkout.

The onsen was the highlight of this stay. The facilities were very clean, and has an outdoor onsen with views of Mt Fuji. Food was very nice, with Western and Japanese variety, however there are not many vegetables. The room itself was very comfortable and clean. The front desk staff were also extremely friendly and helpful. If you are arriving from Hakone Yumoto station but want to explore Hakone before checking in, you can send your luggages to the hotel.

We stayed after a hectic few days in Tokyo and loved the peace and calm of Hakone Suimeisou. Our stay was an opportunity to experience a traditional ryokan and traditional Japanese cuisine. We loved everything about our stay from the private onsen and kimonos to sleeping on futons and the tatami flooring. The hotel is right on the river, and literally across the road from the station - the rooms are spacious and the staff were lovely.

Convenient location with walking distance from the Hakone-Yumoto station. Easy to get around with trains and.buses to other areas in Hakone, including the lake and the Open Air Museum. Traditional Japanese setting in the room was lovely, and the availability of outdoor and indoor onsens is a great plus.
