The owner and staff are very friendly and patient. The property is beautiful and provided great meals. The owner here is so kind, she walked us to our car when we were leaving and thanked us for coming. I am so happy to have met such wonderful people in Japan. Good onsen hotel. Rooms are nice and comfortable. Public onsen is big and has indoor and outdoor. Breakfast is amazing! You can experience many Japanese menu and they are all delicious. They gave us 2 bottles of tea (per 1 person) as a souvenir!

    We visited in the off season, so not much was going on,...

    We visited in the off season, so not much was going on, although we knew that and it was all right. Onta Yaki Pottery Village was a terrific day trip, although we did have to take a long taxi ride to get there. We loved the friendly, humorous, laid-back style of the people in Hita - really lovely folks!

    I loved this town and could easily live here.

    I loved this town and could easily live here. I was lucky enough to catch Ukai (cormorant fishing on the Mikuma River while enjoying a dinner cruise). It has a laid-back vibe, with some excellent dining options close to the station. Unfortunately, I ran out of time to spend more time in this beautiful town.

    The old downtown area was so cute and the Attack on Titan...

    The old downtown area was so cute and the Attack on Titan locations were really fun to visit. The food in the area was very delicious, but many places closed early or required reservations for dinner.
