Beautiful room in a converted merchant's house in Ozu. The upstairs sitting area is a lovely place to relax, as is the spacious bath on the ground floor. The decentralised hotel concept with properties spread across the town is unique and enjoyable. The guesthouse building had been recently renovated, and everything inside looked modern and pristine. The whole place was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The owner was very welcoming, providing me with recommendations on nearby restaurants and preparing me a coffee in the morning. Since it was a quiet day at the guesthouse, he was even kind enough take me to see a local waterfall before dropping me off at the train station.

We were lucky enough to spent a wonderful time with our host, who speaks english very well. She was very friendly and had enough time for us to show us all the amenities and our wonderful room. Use your time to look at her art and what she sells of it, she is very talented, we've got wonderful pieces that will always remind us of our time there. Room and amenities are great and photos are accurate. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we did.

10/10 – Exceptional hospitality and unforgettable stay This was by far the warmest and most welcoming place we stayed during our entire road trip through Shikoku. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home, and their kindness made a real difference – especially when we had unexpected trouble with our rental car (they helped us without hesitation!).

I loved everything about this stay. Very friendly and warm hosts, a really comfortable place overall. Iyo doesn’t have too much in the way of food, but they provided some toast and jam which was really nice of them. I’m especially grateful that they took me around the town when I unfortunately couldn’t make it to Cat Island. Beds were comfy futons.

I felt very much at home ❤️ It was a very pleasant stay and the staff is very kind and helpful and fun to be with. We had a BBQ on the rooftop and the view with the sunset was amazing. Will come again!

The house is just so beautiful! The brilliance of Traditional meets modern in a functional and aesthetically beautiful way. There is parking at the front a small space for a small car. We were greeted so warmly, with the house warmed up, and it stocked with some essentials already. The house was well stocked with utensils and cooking items, we went to the supermarket not far from the house and cooked up a lovely dinner in the kitchen. The kotatsu was so warm and comfortable, the bedrooms had very soft comfortable mattresses and pillows as well! The house is very close to Ozu castle and it’s a lovely and short walk through the suburb to get there and if you want more of a walk there is access to the river that is next to the castle that has a lovely scenic walk. I would definitely recommend a stay and if I am ever back with the family I will stay again!
