The kindness of strangers in Uwajima will forever stay with me. The owners are wonderful, the people of the city no less so. Several of my best memories of my pilgrimage so far is of this place and this guesthouse. I cannot reccomend it higher to anyone looking for a nice stay and nice people.

The staff are super courteous and give you a real sense of Japanese culture. Our room was large and had a lovely view onto the river. Free coffee and soft drinks, and an onsen was included (we didn't even need to use the shower in our room). Really great value for the service we received!

When the staff realised that they had prepared a queen bed room, instead of the twin I had booked, and that my 80 year old mother would struggle with the steep stairs to the upper level, they quickly prepared a new twin room on the ground level. Unit was comfortable, great shower and very comfy beds. Spotlessly clean. We enjoyed eating our dinner and playing board games in the outdoor undercover area by the water. The resident kitten gave us lots of cuddles!

It's just such a beautiful house to spend time in. So bright, airy and aesthetically pleasing. The decor is fantastic, there's plenty of space and there is everything you could possibly need. Having the bar right next door and with delicious tapas-style plates made from delicious fresh ingredients was fantastic. Leina is an excellent host, cook and cocktail maker! We felt right at home there. And to top it all off we had the best night's sleep of our stay in Shikoku!

I could use a PC in the lobby, although it was very slow. Staff was very helpful despite language barriers.

I felt like I was visiting a tidy grandma in this comfy house 😊 it had that atmosphere of a family home and was very cosy! It’s in a good spot near the grocery store, pilgrim path, and also the wonderful garden. Most importantly, the host was so kind and welcoming! Thank you! ☺️
