As soon as you walk through the door, it feels like you stepped back in time and could experience a traditional home that is over 100 years old. The location is ideal, as you step outside and you are in an area of similar style houses. The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful, which enhanced the stay.

The host was really sweet. We all shared a meal and chatted for a while. He helped us plan where to go in the city as well. Sadly couldn't stay for long :(

A very cosy and comfy hotel. The service provided by the staff were impeccable. We arrived late and the staff was there guiding us where to park. The Manager was very helpful in providing us with direction to our next destination. We were allowed to park in the hotel carpark of 2 parking lots even after we checked out. Really appreciate it. Wada san (if I get her name right) was so kind to find my missing scraf for me. Thank you. The room we stayed was great with garden view. There was washi lanterns displayed in the garden as well. Nice ! Location was really a plus point, just next to the Mino Washi Lanterns exhibition and with restaurants nearby.

Everything. The bed was so comfortable and you'll get good value for your money ! Mino is a gem, unless you been there before. The bus stop is just outside the door, if you don't have your own wheels. The old couple who runs the Guesthouse is so kind and helpful. If I was to go to Mino again, this would be my choice of accommodation, every time.

Easy access to get to the cutlery festival, and relatively close walking distance to station. Room price included breakfast tickets, but I had other plans so am not able to comment on that

Great location for a quiet weekend far from the crowd. The view from the terrace is amazing. The surrounding of the accomodation is stunning. The bathroom with view on the river left us speechless. Nature lovers, we consider going again!

This is a city in the countryside of Gifu prefecture, yet it is truly beautiful in its central streets where old traditional dark timber houses stretch for the whole length of the road, lining up in a breathtaking view. At night, the only illumination comes from the lanterns outside these shops, and it is devoid of people. perfect to rediscover peace, silence, and a connection with the land it is impossible to feel in the city. The train is a one-carriage train with a luxurious design, and you feel you are riding in first class, not the local train. This is a place to come to slow down, reconnect with nature and listen to the piercing silence. The sheer amount of local crafts and shops makes it unique, as well as truly authentic. I recommend it for those who want to see a different side of Japan. Maybe not a great show-off, or not quirky like the city, yet special.

Unfortunately, I arrived after dark to see the Mino Akari Exhibition, and the Mino Washi paper general store was closed. I should have arrived a little earlier. For dinner, I ordered a local beer at the craft beer bar "Ento," and was told about the brewery and beer bar nearby, so I went there. The restaurant was full, but they lit the stove on the table in front of the bar, so it was very warm. All the beers were delicious. It was quiet in the morning, so I was able to enjoy the Udatsu townscape. As for sightseeing spots, I recommend the Mino Akari Art Museum and the Former Imagawa Family Mino Museum. The combined ticket price of 400 yen is a great deal. The museum director's entertaining commentary was fascinating and memorable. At the end, I even got a special photo taken with the townscape. If you're planning a visit to Mino, I recommend visiting during the Akari Art Exhibition!
