The hotel is a walking distance from Misawa station, which I needed. It is a basic place for business people rather than for vacation. I was hesitant to book it as the rating was not so high, but in the end I was content. The place is old and a bit worn out but clean, the staff very friendly, the breakfast (6 to 8am) typical Japanese, was tasty, and price very reasonable. I had a single room, and importantly, it was very warm (outside temperatures in minus C and snowing).

Conveniently located a 5-minute drive from JR Misawa Train Station, Hotel Route-Inn Misawa offers rooms with a video-on-demand system on the flat-screen TV.

Great staff - I mean, really good. Having had to break the stay into two bookings due to lack of a non-smoking room on one night, when one became available, they combined my two bookings into one. So I didn't have to check out and check back in again in the evening. Also the morning shifts were great with calling taxis for me. Good breakfasts, nice onsen and the room was quiet, despite being next to the lift shaft.

Exceeded my expectations. This is a very nice, well-run hotel in just the right location for a visit to Misawa City. All elements of the facility worked as expected. The coin operated laundry was perfect. The staff at this hotel are great! They are polite, energetic, and always willing to help. Personal thanks to those who helped me make phone calls that required Japanese to English translation. I am so grateful.

Needed somewhere to skip the night after the Towada Hanabi - wished I'd've stayed for longer. Bed was exceptionally comfortable - as if Hypnos himself had come down to lull me to sleep. AC could be controlled via buttons next to the bed. Private bathroom, albeit somewhat cramped. Close to the central bus stop. Free toiletries at the reception. Breakfast was different from what I knew, but it was lovely nonetheless.

The interior is a little dated and the rooms a bit retro, but it is very quiet, inexpensive, has beautiful surroundings, and a great selection of onsen. In the evening I used the outdoor onsen and enjoyed the full moon. The next morning I used the indoor and met some friendly locals.
