We had a great stay at Hotel Sou. The room design is very modern - the raw concrete and industrial design elements, as well as the open floor concept connecting room, bathroom and balcony are really well done. You can see that the owner knows what he‘s doing and has a great eye for good design. The hotel is super well located and in close walking distance to some of Fukue‘s main sights, a bunch of restaurants/bakeries etc. Last but not least, the owner really went way and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable stay. He was always available for questions, helped us making reservations with restaurants and arrangements with a rental car company, etc. This helped us a lot, especially as English is not so widely spoken in Fukue/Goto.

The staff were fantastic. Amila looked after us so well the whole time and really made us feel cared for and made our stay. Our honeymoon was perfect and so glad we chose Goto Ray Retreat. The team even wrote us a personal congratulations and welcome card for us on arrival! Chef Ko Takahira is a real artist and his food was amazing. He sources fresh fish from the market himself daily which really speaks to the quality of his dishes. We would definitely stay again. Shame we couldn't stay longer. Thank you so much Amila and staff! :)

Receptionist: Good service; takes initiative. Although his English vocabulary was quite limited, he did his best to provide good service. When we mentioned we would probably dine at the in-house izakaya, he took the initiative to ring the izakaya to say that two non-Japanese speaking guests would be coming to dine. The izakaya staff were great, gave us an English menu. The food was pretty good. Facilities: Laundry facilities and free parking.

We had a wonderful time in this beautiful house. Everything was perfect with a lot of detail features and esthetically done. Perfect to enjoy life, get some work done and exploring the beautiful island of Goto (Fukue Island). Top service level and excellency in many aspects. Our housekeeper was awesome and he showed us some amazing hidden places on the island. So friendly. We can highly recommend this place if you love nature, tranquility with a high value of life.
