Takamatsu is a regional town on Shikoku Island in Japan. It is quite relaxed and has everything that you may look for in big cities. Shikoku Island is one of the main 4 Islands of Japan. It is good to reach by train, bus and even by airplane. It has an old history and boasts of many traditional handicrafts, regional specialties (such as udon noodles), etc. Always worth a visit - even if it is in the rainy season.Guest review byGalinski - 8.0

One highlight was tasking the ferry to Ogre Island and...
One highlight was tasking the ferry to Ogre Island and hiring elctric bikes. A wonderful day. We also enjoyed looking at the work being done at the shipyards, and enjoyed visiting the Shikoku village. Karaoke at a tradtional bar was also fun one evening, and we enjoyed a whole variety of Japanese food. One slight problem was that one of our group is vegetarian, so sometimes it took a while to find a restaurant that sukited us all.Guest review byDomney - 8.0

It's a truly authentic Japanese experience, from the bath to the tatami floors to the décor. The hosts are both absolutely wonderful and make you feel at home straight away. It's conveniently located so you can see all the sites in Yashima (I especially like Shikoku Mura) and 10 minutes from Yashima Station,which makes travel to Takamatsu and Tokushima convenient.
