Simply the most amazing river side lodge in the heart of pristine nature - we stayed in a tree hut for 2 nights - felt like an adventure camping but with all the modern day comforts. Tree hut - in hut you get wall sockets to charge your devices, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, window shutters to let in the fresh crisp forest air, super clean wooden floor boards and futon bedding. Even though you are using a shared toilet and shower - these were both super hygienic, personal care essentials all provided and organised. Food - there’s a small restaurant that serves up a good hearty breakfast and dinner sets. Being city folk, we thoroughly enjoyed the “camp like with city comforts” experience! The staff, Yuki, Alex and Merdina, were always on site to make you feel welcomed, they took the effort to chit chat, offer help etc. Yuki went out of his way to fetch us to the starting point of our walking trails and also to see the breathtakingly picturesque Chinda waterfalls. Such a special memorable experience I hope to repeat again! Thank you again kiyokawa lodge!

We had an amazing stay at this Japanese guesthouse! The house is exquisitely beautiful, with modern furniture that blends style and comfort seamlessly. The apartment is spacious for a family. Kitchen is a bonus. Beds are comfy. Owner is very friendly and offered us vegies and other stuffs. We love the city, enjoying our walk. The location is perfect with easy access to supermarket and bus stops. My kid love the coffee and macha making.

The rooms are amazing little cabins that are cozy warm in the winter and very well designed. The bath is deep and allows you to feel like you are bathing in nature. The food in the restaurant was incredible. They adapted the menu for me to vegetate it was among the best meals I’ve had in Japan. The onsen is awesome too with warm baths that look out over the river. Magical! The fact they have a mixed section is great. Swimming costumes provided.

The experience of the authentic country side. The hosts were very kind, warm hearted and welcoming. The house is big, we loved the kotatsu table. Next to the house is a river and you can hear frogs. Beppu and Oita is close drive. We wish we could stay longer it was the best experience and we will cherish it forever.

This small local hotel is nice and comfy. You can experience the local hotel in the little town like you are in the Japanese series. The room is spacious, bathroom is very new. Staff is very helpful, the nightshift lady cannot speak English but she tried her best to help us park our car nearby. Breakfast is a delicious Japanese set.

The staff is incredibly nice and accommodating. Me and my wife absolutely loved staying at this traditional Japanese house. And although traditional, the house is very well renovated, comfortable, and clean. The room was cosy, the bed was very comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. I intend to return to Taketa while travelling around Kyushu and I will definitely stay again at this Hostel Cue!
