The location of this hotel was spectacular, in the heart of SHIBUYA with so many shops and restaurants in walking distance. The room’s size was pretty good , absolutely clean and cozy .. but what I liked the most about this hotel was the staff. Probably the best customer service I’ve had not only in Tokyo but in any country I’ve ever been to , the service was so good that we had another plan to change hotels after 5 days but we decided to cancel the other hotel’s reservation and extend our stay at indigo. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful and made our stay 10 times better 🙏🏻

FAQs about hotels in Tokyo

See It to Believe It!

The capital of Japan, Tokyo is a vast, teeming metropolis nestled between mountains and Tokyo Bay. It’s so huge that you’ll have to come to grips with public transport and maybe even experience being pushed onto a train. Yes, it does actually happen!

Get your bearings by ascending the Tokyo World Trade Centre near the waterfront, and savour the fantastic views taking in the red-and-white Tokyo Tower and Shinkuju’s skyscrapers. North is Ueno, home to the best museums (including the Tokyo National Museum) and a large park bursting with cherry blossom in spring.

Equally tranquil are the Chiyoda Imperial Palace and Gardens, surrounded by water. Also in gardens is the Meiji Jingu Shinto shrine in Shibuya, a youthful district where neon abounds.

For more traditional Japanese culture, head to Asakusa whose Sensō-ji Buddhist temple is Tokyo’s oldest temple. Markets in the grounds sell a variety of wares, though shopping in Tokyo is, of course, fantastic wherever you go.

Whether you stay in a Japanese ryokan, luxury Tokyo hotel or a hostel, don’t fly out of Tokyo Narita Airport or Haneda Airport without having tried sushi. Another Japanese institution is the sento (public bath) and onsen (hot springs bath) – a must try. Also incredibly popular are Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, Asia’s 2 most visited theme parks.

As a tourist, there is so much to see and do in Tokyo.

As a tourist, there is so much to see and do in Tokyo. If you have time to spare, catching a Kabuki performance is recommended. If it's not the right time to catch a Sumo match, there are quite a few shows to choose from. Disney Sea is a great way to spend a day. Exploring the Tokyo Metro is an experience. Hop on Hop off bus is a great way to get an overview of the city. Shibuya Crossing is a must! So much more to see and do...and eat!

It's like home away from home.

It's like home away from home. The vast choice of restaurants is amazing. The mass transit infrastructure is so advanced. Convenient in many ways. Very beautiful city day or nite. The quite residential neighborhoods are very tranquil. Walking around at nite in quite or less busy areas still feel safe. Sometimes the JR station staff may come across as less than friendly mainly because of language barrier.

Even tho we stayed for a weekend, it's too crowded, too many tourists and high prices for everything. We came from Osaka and the comparison is night and day, way too expensive, and it's lost all uniqueness. If you're a car guy you'll enjoy it more (really, going to car spots saved us from an even worse experience)

Tokyo is massive.

Tokyo is massive. For UK travellers, think of the City of London and its suburbs on steroids. Look at the sights you want to see and plan your hotel around the majority of them. We stayed at 3 and 4 star ones and they were all good. Small, but perfectly proportioned. We found that Airbnb's could be noisy, whereas hotels are usually soundproofed. Transportation is a breeze. Just remember the Line letter, colour or name and your station number. Look at the time of the train and the final destination of that train then the station that you want to go to. Some of the stations are massive, so you need to be careful about connection times and how long it will take you to get from one to the other, especially if you're dragging luggage. Get a digital IC card. If you're travelling from one far away destination to another, book your ticket online ahead of time and reserve your seats. It saves queueing, and gives you peace of mind that you'll have a seat especially if you're going at cherry blossom or fall colours time, when they're at their peak. All the shrines, temples, gardens etc., are fabulous. You won't be short of things to do. Google maps is great, although like most it sometimes has glitches, but for travelling on the subways, trains etc., it's brilliant. Restaurants and convenience stores are plentiful and most hotel rooms have fridges, so you can buy snacks/drinks etc., for the next day if necessary.

I was only there for one night.

I was only there for one night. I arrived in Tokyo at 11pm and have a long layover with my cat. I needed a hotel that I could stay with her. I quickly found out that in Japan "Pet friendly" really means dog friendly. I wrote to the hotel and they allowed my cat to stay with me. The room was a decent size with plenty of walking room and the v=basic amenities that were usually needed for an overnight stay. There was a cute balcony off the room that I stood on for a few minutes while waiting for my morning taxi. The area it was in seems to be a nice typical Japanese neighborhood. I was very pleased with the whole situation and would have liked to stay a few more day to explore.

Rooms were large for Tokyo hotels and had a bathtub (we stayed in the South Wing), and housekeeping was good. It has two lines next to it including the less crowded Tochomae station on the Oedo line. Better than Shinjuku. There’s a decent Komeda’s cafe opposite the back entrance where we ate at twice and more eateries are about 5 minutes’ walk away. We liked that the limo bus stopped right at the hotel and that tour agencies picked up guests at the hotel too.

The hotel is very well located by Shimbashi station which is convenient. The breakfast vouchers can be used in two restaurants as well as in the family mart downstairs which was really helpful on days we were out early. Staff were very helpful in helping my husband find a pharmacy and get me medication when I was very unwell staying at the hotel.

Our hotel room was cozy and comfortable. I liked the overall facilities and size. They have a good library where you can have coffee and chill. Location was a huge plus as it's quiet and really clean neighborhood. I would recommend such a neighborhood over crowded places like shinjuku and shibuya.
