10/10 – Exceptional hospitality and unforgettable stay This was by far the warmest and most welcoming place we stayed during our entire road trip through Shikoku. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home, and their kindness made a real difference – especially when we had unexpected trouble with our rental car (they helped us without hesitation!).

This was one of the most enjoyable stays of our trip. First of all, the staff were absolutely amazing, so kind and friendly, really made out stay! The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and then onsen amazing, so relaxing.

Stopped here for the night after a long and tiring day's bike riding in the mountains. Lovely little basic log cabin by a gurgling stream. Two bunk beds, a sink and an enclosed toilet outside on the verandah. As there are no restaurants or shops nearby, the kind and chatty receptionist, who speaks very good English, went to great lengths to get me a microwaveable curry and rice for my dinner and made me a bento style breakfast, so I could make an early start in the morning. Above and beyond!

We brought the groceries for dinner up from the supermarket in Yusuhara and prepared it in the guesthouse. There are no shops nearby - best to prepare in advance and make sure you have what you need. A delicious breakfast was provided and waiting for us in the fridge when we got up in the morning. We prepared the eggs and enjoyed everything with the fresh-baked bread.

Felt like a really unique experience. The hotel used to be a school and it is run by local people. The staff was super nice, they even gave us recommandations for our trip !

Beautiful traditional Japanese style house just behind the Main Street of town and directly behind the supermarket in the beautiful valley of the Ashoka to river. The host is fantastic is very friendly and accomodating. Would highly recommend staying here for a peaceful and traditional style countryside guesthouse experience.
