The houses in the resort are traditional houses from different regions of Laos that have been reassembled and built into rooms with modern amenities. A kind of accommodation-museum. There was love in the air for the local culture and life, as well as for the guests. Looking at the service staff busy in the complex, you feel as if you are living in a nice village in friendly Laos. The view of the Mekong, especially at sunset, is so beautiful that you may forget to finish your coctail. Breakfast is fresh, really tasty and different every morning. The massage is great. The resort is a longer walk from the center of Luang Prabang, but the road is not friendly for walking. It's better to drive. The resort offers transportation to the city and you can easily get back. The resort also offers excursions. If Luang Prabang city vacation is interesting, one can split the time so that half at On the Mekong Resort and half in the city. We did so and were very satisfied. However, looking back, if there was only one stop to choose from, it would be On the Mekong Resort.

A new, small boutique hotel with lots of charm, large rooms with great views and excellent equipment. We discovered by walking after several deceiving searches. It is even better than the photos ! The location is ideal - very central and quiet. In addition a very warm welcome and excellent specific help to find the best tours, restaurants, cocktail bars and so much more. The decoration is a very elegant mix of modern and traditional objects with a desire to source ethically and support local artisans. The best hotel we had in Laos at a very fair price. Profit to book while it is not yet known!

A wonderful place with a lovely atmosphere set in beautiful...

A wonderful place with a lovely atmosphere set in beautiful surroundings. There are numerous high quality restaurants and cafes which won't break the bank. Make sure you climb Phousi Mountain for the sunrise, rather than wait for sunset, as it is far quieter. Other places to visit apart from the main Wats (which are lovely) and the Palace, is the craft Centre, OK Pop Tok, where you can watch weaving and silk making and the small but interesting Museum of Ethnology. Be prepared for large, noisy coach groups at the Palace.

Arrived in Luang Prabang after weeks traveling around South East Asia. Considered traveling around Laos but decided to wind down, relax, and enjoy the one location. Couldn't have picked a better spot. It is calm, unhurried, relaxed, people exceptionally nice, food excellent. We had no hassle, market traders didn't 'push' nor did tour operators, very pleasant. Main street shopping enjoyable, with lots of good restaurants and bars. We arranged a private boat trip to the Buddha cave, going in the afternoon when there were very few people. timing it so we arrived back in Luang Prabang to catch sunset on Mekong while onboard. Boat trip up Mekong a pure pleasure. Luang Prabang is very walk able, not very big, but we found it absolutely lovely to visit and would happily add on to next itinerary especially when looking for a quiet place.

It's a whole chilled-out place. temples, lots of good restaurants, cafes, and spas; and the area is good for sight-seeing. We cruised on the Mekong, visited a cave with hundreds or thousands of buddhas, fed an elephant, visited the falls, etc. and the area is good for trekking and cycling.

UNESCO World Heritage site with buildings dating from the French Colonial days. If you love temples, then Luang Prabang is the place to go. The town is generally very tidy and well maintained and is easy to get around. Well worth a visit!

Luang Prabang is a peaceful and beautiful city, perfect for relaxing. I enjoyed the calm atmosphere, friendly people and the mix of culture and nature everywhere. Getting around the city is quite easy — most places are walkable, and you can also use tuk-tuks for longer distances. There are many nice cafés and restaurants, and trying local Lao food was one of the highlights. The temples, night market and riverside areas are great to explore. For families with children, the city is safe and not too crowded, with plenty of outdoor spots to enjoy. Overall, it’s a lovely place to visit and I would definitely come again.

The city has numerous amenities that will make ones stay very enjoyable: great eating places, very easy to walk around, very safe, river dining/trips, adventure opportunities such as waterfalls, caves. The best part is the Mandalao Elephant Sanctuary, excellent experience interacting with the elephants in their natural habitat. Laos Buffalo Dairy, Luang Prabang Yoga, Big Brother Mouse House, numerous Massage options, and just relaxing!!

We had a perfect stay at this hotel in Luang Prabang! The location is ideal, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the setting is very pleasant. A huge thank you especially to the two young people at the reception — absolutely amazing: always smiling, helpful, and ready to assist us with everything (organizing activities, giving tips about the city, making bookings…). They truly made our stay even more enjoyable! I highly recommend this hotel, both for the quality of the place and the extraordinary kindness of its team.

The most charming place in Luang Prabang! The staff is absolutely amazing, the design is stunning, the room was spacious, and breakfast in the beautiful garden was just perfect. The location is spot on. The only small issue we had was with the Wi-Fi in the room, which is critical for us as remote workers. But that’s an easy fix, and Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel. Highly recommended! 🌟

The hotel and it's staff was great and they took care very well of us! We really felt like on holiday and could come with any query and they helped us. The free shuttle service running on fixed hours was also great and worked well. We also organized the train tickets from Luang Prabang to Vang Vieng, which was cheaper than with the hotel.from Vang Vieng. (212KIP pp).
