We had an amazing time at Animals! We loved it here so much we doubled our stay because the place is just a dream. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. We stayed in the "budget rooms" at first, which is just 10 seconds from the pool and dining area. Even though it's called a budget room, it's spacious & very well maintained and has a lovely garden, and the rooms have a large bathroom, a dressing and a terrace. The other days we spend in the double rooms in the main building which are like you're staying inside of a Pinterest moodboard. We got the privilege to meet the Swedish couple who owns the hotel & designed it into an absolute gem. They are just the best people, we talked for many hours & went surfing with them & learned so much about Swedish & Sri Lankan life during our talks. The breakfast included has so many options tot choose from and the coffees are actually the best we had in Sri Lanka. If you would be unfortunate that there is no room available in the hotel, do yourself a favour and come have lunch or dinner, you won't be disappointed! Even though we travelled a lot and visited so much nice hotels & resorts, we never had the same experience like we had at Animals! The biggest thank you to Nalin, Samon, Anndala & Arvid for making us feel so welcome! ♥️

After all the surfing and traveling, we wanted a place to relax the last few days. It was perfect. It was clean, quiet and the furnishings were well chosen down to the smallest detail. You don't have to leave the accommodation if you don't want to, as there is also a restaurant with delicious food. The staff were great and fulfilled our every wish. Ahangama is easy to get to and if you still want to surf, there are great spots nearby. Definitely recommended.

Beautiful, mind blowingly beautiful. I cannot stress how dazzling this property is! The staff…wow! They’ll, literally, give the clothes off their back to help you (we needed a belt, & this guy just pulled it off his pants & gave it to us! ) It’s expensive. But if you can afford it, you cannot find a better place. It was recommended by @shmit_happens (Instagram) & I’m so grateful!

Beautiful hotel accross a picturesque beach. The rooms are spacious and so comfortable. The staff are super lovely and attentive. The food is beyond delicious. Was able to try traditional Sri Lankan cuisine. Overall the best hotel in Sri Lanka. Totally recommended. I would rate it 20/10.

This brand new hotel is utter heaven. From the moment you arrive you can’t help but draw breath and relax. The pool and surrounding area is beautiful with really comfortable loungers and the staff are attentive and polite and fun but discreet. The breakfast was delicious particularly the granola and the coffee ( I very rarely find a hotel that does good enough coffee but this was great) We didn’t eat at the hotel in the evening but all the food we saw served to other guests looked amazing and was apparently wonderful. It was my birthday so they even made a birthday cake ( see photo attached) Our room was just perfect. The accommodation is in little buildings scattered around the site and hidden by jungle and so very private. The bathroom had stunning appliances and it was utterly surreal to showering in the open air. The bedroom was uncluttered but stylish but was just missing bottled water and tea coffee making facilities which apparently are about to be provided. The bedroom was incredibly comfortable with luxurious bed linen and of course the jungle to look at from our bed. We cannot wait to visit again .

This villa is absolutely beautiful, with elegant interiors and well-designed landscaping that adds to its charm. The surroundings are incredibly calm—it truly felt like a home away from home. The host was exceptionally kind and even rushed to a nearby shop to get us a large umbrella when it started raining. Such thoughtful gestures made our stay extra special. I’d love to return someday!

    We actually stayed in Kabalana which is just 25 min walk or...

    We actually stayed in Kabalana which is just 25 min walk or 5 min tuk tuk drive from Ahangama. It was the right decision as Ahangama was twice as busy and Kabalana beach was way better. Restaurants near us were really nice too and with the most famous night club in Sri Lanka called Trax round the corner!

    Ahangama is great for surfing, restaurants and social life! There are some weekly parties in town and a lot of solo travellers which can be met on social hostels, all around the town and at the beach. Loved Ahangama and it gave me very homey feeling, came back after seen the island a bit more!

    Definitely a quieter side of Sri Lanka, though its picking up and the nice part is if you have transport you can go visit the other beaches which are all in the same line and about 20-30 minutes distance within each other. There's a lot to do in terms if shopping some knick knacks, enjoying the food and some drinks as well. You just need to ask the locals where they go and what they like and you're bound to have a memorable time.

    Great place for expats working remotely, the city has a huge western influence with all the beach bars and shacks, it is not so much authentic, but if you want comfort it's a good place to start with. It is not yet packed with tourists and has many small guest houses and hotels, which is nice compared to Weligama's unathentic resorts.

    We've stayed in Timeless in 2020 it was really nice to visit the hotel again. The staff is really nice, kind, they're always smiling. Also the rooms and the balcony are big enough to spent time and enjoy the view. The variety of the restaurant menu is really good, just it was much more tasty when we visited in 2020 but still good. The rooms and bedsheets were clean enough and rooms service really takes care of the room. I think it has the best location and beach (Kabalana) in Ahangama, maybe in south part of Sri Lanka.

    We stayed 10 nights and we really enjoyed everything to the fullest. This hotel is a very cozy, beautiful and homely vibe place to spend your holiday in Sri Lanka. The location is just perfect, opposite of Kabalana beach. The food is very delicious, every dish was prepared with love by Chef Bandu. The owner Ara and his team were amazing. You can rent a motorcycle, just ask the team, they ll arrange everything for you. Thank you Soul Inn Team, we will definitely come back.

    We had the most wonderful stay at Abode. Everyone looked after us so well and Aslam was the perfect host. Nothing was too much trouble. The bedrooms and house are spotless and the pool and gardens are wonderful. The food is also great and the surrounding area is full of good beaches, surfing and places to eat and drink. Don’t hesitate to book your holiday in Sri Lanka and choose Abode!

    The days spent at Soul Temple od Surfing were the most beutiful I spent in Sri Lanka. The vibes, the mood, the service, the breakfast, the yoga classes, the position of the place (super central and close to all the place of interest), the availability of the staff and the support of Victor.. I would really love to come back in the future! Highly recommended

    Clean, spacious rooms. Luxury feel, and good AC. Lovely view from the rooftop. Hashan and the team were amazing, so attentive and welcoming. I really wanted to stay longer, but they were fully booked. Also got an amazing Sri Lankan breakfast catered to my allergies. I really enjoyed the Halapa 🙌🏼 thank you so much for a lovely stay!
