The arrival of Buddhism in Sri Lanka, introduced by Mahinda Thera in the 3rd century BCE, marked a transformative era for Anuradhapura. Sri mahabodiya ,Ruwanweliseya and so many buddhist temples are there.Also large tanks like Thisa wewa,Nuwara wewa also there.Very attarctive place to visit.
