If you are looking for a gem off the beaten track, this would be it. Tucked away in the middle of nowhere just between rice fields, mountains and coconut trees. Very welcoming family who will take great care of you - showing you around the area, explaining about gardening and cook delicious food. Very peaceful and authentic spot in Sri Lanka. Highly recommend

Everything It exceeded all our expectations the room was so cool. This place has only been open 7 months and he has plans to build self contained units above the current property. With only 3 rooms and a 6 bed apartment it's a lovely cozy place. It's very remote and so peaceful.

This was honestly one of the most welcoming and thoughtful places we’ve ever stayed. From the moment we arrived, Sydney and his team looked after us so well. The chef asked what we fancied and was very accommodating. He cooked the most amazing curry, lunch and honey hoppers for breakfast (which we were introduced to and absolutely loved). They even gave us a packed lunch for our elephant boat safari, which they organised, along with a great driver. There were little extra touches that made such a different, like beers in the fridge when we arrived (and they went to get more when we ran out), a cooking class with a local family, a really interesting forest walk with an indigenous guide and when we asked if we could do some laundry they sorted it for us with no trouble at all. The cottage is in a beautiful, quiet spot with amazing Mountain View’s, a perfect place to switch off. Would highly recommend supporting this amazing project. Such a great experience 😊😊

The hotel is located off the beaten track and has a strong focus on sustainability. We did two safaris (Boat Tour in Gal Oya NP and a little stroll in the afternoon). We've learned a lot about nature, the community and the country from the friendly naturalists who guide the tours and who work for for the hotel. It was a great experience and one of our highlights in Sri Lanka!

Location - wonderful views to lake with lots of bird life and elephants! Watched sole male both mornings we were there. Fantastic staff - friendly, efficient and always willing to help Mae out stay enjoyable. Pool kept very well and nice temp. Private and safe - like its own little sanctuary. Clean comfortable and cool rooms - ask for views to the lake. Watch fruit bats leave their colony in hundreds at dusk and return at dawn. Kayak rental also to paddle around lake recommended. I would absolutely stay here again!

Host was lovely. Cozy comfortable room. Felt safe as a female solo traveller. Host was always available by phone. Organised tuk tuk. Fed me snacks and took me swimming at the nearby waterfall. Introduced me to the neighbours on the way to the river. They have laundry service!
