Went for a quick transit stay to spend the night. They even arranged the pick-up from the railway station which was very convenient given the time we arrived. From the welcome drink that was served even at late at night to the dinner served before checking out was all exceptional. The staff was very professional respectful. They humbly attended our requests The food and the serving was top-notch The location is easy to reach and the hotel premise has a lovely landscape with a pool Will visit again. I would recommend this to anyone who is planning to travel to Minneriya / Hingurakgoda.

A wonderful place - spotlessly clean, beautifully landscaped with lovely plants. Spacious, comfortable room - plenty of hot water for showers, good wifi and a wide terrace. Chairs and loungers around the pool and in the garden, which also has hammocks. Lounge area in the dining room looks out into the gardens - all very peaceful. The food was classic Sri Lankan - breakfast was huge and very tasty, the rice and curry was excellent - 12+ delicious small veg dishes with rice and poppadoms to accompany the curry, or there were alternative dishes along with desserts and fresh juices. Staff were really lovely, helpful and good to talk to. Some way out of town, but such a nice place we didn't want to move, and when we needed it was easy to get TukTuk to the archaeological sites, train station etc.

Once we left the crowded Colombo we arrived to this magical and relaxing place, surrounded by nature and a few minutes away from Polonnaruwa. The place, the room, the bath, the hospitality and the GREAT host that we had really made our visit worth it. He tooked care of us and for everything that we needed, giving us recommendations, sharing with us delicious meals, inspiring conversations and moments that will remain with us forever. We most liked that the owner is so passionate about his resort. He loved to show us around in his beautifull garden and everything in the resort is thought of and well functioning. The sister of the owner is an excellent cook and she makes a great Sri Lankan breakfast. Each day a bit different but always delicious and plentifull. Same holds for the optional dinner. Owner also has good deals and friendly and knowledgeable friends for excursions to the temples and Sigiriya and safari. We left to see other places but actually we didn't want to leave this little paradise.

Cleanliness, high quality services provided by all the staff, very caring and efficient manager, excellent food, comfortable bed and nice fluffy pillows, as well as tea making facilities, and the low room rate. Without any doubt we received very good value for the miney we spent. In particular, Kumara, the manager of Summer Haven, did everything possible to satisfy the customer needs without any delay. He provided an excellent service as a manager. We will definitely stay at Summer Haven on our next visit, and will also spread the word among our friends.
