Our stay at Olinda Galle was simply perfect! The property is stunning, with a truly special swimming pool. The garden is beautiful and well-maintained, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The room decor was elegant and thoughtfully designed, adding to the charm of the place. On top of that, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Everything was flawless—we couldn’t have asked for a better stay! Highly recommended.

We LOVED the sun house, even though we have always stayed in really nice places in Sri Lanka, this was by far the best. The location is great, you pay around 200 LKR to go to Galle Fort. The garden and the house itself is beautiful. The food was great, one of the best we had in Sri Lanka. Really good value for money and super tasty. And the staff was simply amazing. There was always someone around and usually we even didn’t have to say anything- when we left the room, they would think of cleaning our room, if we lay down by the pool they would bring water. They remember all our wishes for breakfast (eg no bananas) and we never had to ask for it again. I want to particularly point out the service of Priyantha and Tharindu, they were lovely and always had a nice story to tell or a recommendation to give. Thank you so much for making our stay special

Breakfast wasn't included but there are so many eateries within a few minutes walk away. The location couldn't have been better within Galle Fort. It was a very gracious & stylish villa to stay in. The room & bathroom are huge with clean, fluffy white towels provided daily. The manager, Mr Azwaan, and his assistant, Ashan, made us feel like honoured guests. They made our stay comfortable and relaxing.

As we returned to our daily routines, it took us a while to revisit(unfortunately ony in our memories)this wonderful place and share our opinion. Ultimately, we highly recommend it, but more on that in a moment. We found the hotel somewhat by accident, searching among many on Booking.com. We loved the view from the private pool in our room, as well as the view of nature from the hotel pool. In reality, we saw exactly what we saw in the photos on Booking.com. The location was excellent, and for those who are apprehensive about it, I should add that we traveled with our 10-year-old son and had no problems getting to and from the hotel in the middle of the jungle, even in the evenings. We could always count on the helpfulness of the hotel staff. The location is picturesque, the cottages are of a high standard, and the hotel staff keep them impeccably clean. The hotel staff are very helpful, the food is excellent, and the chef cares about the customer and is also able to adapt to any situation (allergies, child). We tried many restaurants, and this one proved to be one of the best in terms of food quality. A place where you can relax surrounded by nature, which is right at your fingertips. A true haven for those seeking peace and complete relaxation (with extras like a swimming pool and massages—these are available upon request) and superb cuisine, surrounded by the sounds of nature. We highly recommend this place and will happily return in the future. We thank the staff for their dedication and smiles.

Kumudu, his team and his family are wonderful hosts and people. Always available to help, professional and discreet, yet personal, open-minded and open-hearted. Communication was easy at all times. The premises are well kept, exude a feeling of tranquility and make you forget you’re still in a city. The lush garden around the pool not only provides shade, but also privacy to the two double rooms and hosts an abundance of birds, squirrels and sometimes monkeys. The two beautiful double rooms with high ceiling are spacious, well-equipped, super clean, well-lit and feature a big bathroom with an open air (hot) shower in complete privacy. The beds are comfortable and have an airy and effective mosquito net. There’s a ceiling fan both in the room and on the terrace which was much appreciated as it keeps the mozzies at bay. One of the highlights was the delicious, fresh and plentiful breakfast on the room terrace, prepared by Janidu’s mother. I’m very happy to have found this place and can’t wait to return :)

The staff goes above and beyond: I had a family emergency and they helped me a lot, also outside of their working hours. They truly go the extra mile to make you feel at home and that I didn’t feel like I’m alone in this difficult situation. Sidesh is a great manager with a generous heart! The interior is beautiful and the breakfast is delicious! I highly recommend this accomodation!

    The vibe that Galle fort shares during anytime of the day is marvelous. It is a super child friendly place with amazing shops and places at every corner. It has the ambience of a unique blend between antiquity and modernity filled with aesthetic taste of rich culture and art. Seems its potential is still untapped fully. Loved the eateries and little cafes designed with elegance and charm. It showcases the serenity of a typical European port city with Dutch colonial architecture.

    We originally had one full day planned at Galle but we ended...

    We originally had one full day planned at Galle but we ended up being there for longer. We didn't need to be there any longer than one day. The walk around the Fort was lovely but there were not really many good shops to see and it was a little touristy in the Fort. Unfortunately they still let cars and motorbikes and Tuk Tuks in the street of the Fort which was difficult to navigate. Not really much to do in Galle except for the Fort.

    This is a cool city to visit.

    This is a cool city to visit. The cobblestone streets inside the fort take you back centuries & add to the fantastic historical charm of this town. There are great restaurants around Peddlers St and plenty to do exploring the fort & the nearby beaches. Unfortunately, our stay here was too short & we were unable to explore further outside the fortress walls. Save that for next time.

    The staff was welcoming, helpful, and friendly. The hotel is located in a prime spot—just a short walk from the Galle Clock Tower, popular restaurants, museums, the lighthouse, and even bathing spots. Galle Fort is a stunning location in Sri Lanka, and staying here gave us easy access to everything it has to offer. Breakfast was a simple yet satisfying English breakfast, served with a fresh fruit platter and coffee. And all of this came at a very reasonable rate. Until we meet again, Thank you, Sunset Fort Galle!

    This was a very comfortable and excellently located hotel. The outstanding element to our stay were the hotel staff led by Hirudima. They were delightful and Hirudima went out of his way to be helpful and friendly. He even organised a courier to deliver a bag we left behind to our next location. The hotel staff made our stay in Galle a real pleasure and were among the very best we have encountered throughout our many hotel stays in Sri Lanka.

    I have experience an amazing hospitality from all the staff members ! The room was large and confortable, with a beautiful view over the city. The hotel is located in a peaceful area, few minutes away from the city center, train station, bus center, and the beautiful Fort of Galle. You can find many comodities around, restaurants and supermarket, otherwise the hotel can cook delicious Sri Lankan cuisine too.

    The staff are so friendly and welcoming, they really want you to enjoy your stay. Kitchen facilities mean you can prepare your own meals and fruit. The location is good, especially with your own transport, as you're equidistant from the beaches in Unawatuna and Galle fort. My sister stayed in the double room with private bathroom and she said it was the nicest room she'd stayed in in Sri Lanka thus far.

    A beautiful decorated boutique hotel in a good location away from the busy part of the fort but walkable all around. All the staff were very friendly and always happy to help with anything. It was good to see the hotel is making an effort to reduce the use of plastic - water bottles and toiletries. Sri Lankan breakfast was very filling and tasty.
