A superb host who really looked after us. We stopped here to see the perahera. Not only did they arrange us VIP seats, but they stayed with us the whole time. Enormous room, matched by the size of the breakfast. It's not far from Colombo, but we stayed for a different reason.

We chose this stay based on reviews, and are so glad we did. Felix, the manager, is the heart and soul of Den 23 and he goes above and beyond to make sure guests' trips are the best they can be. Felix gave our kids sparklers and marbles for Christmas, and gave us lots of tips and advice. The other staff work hard to keep the place clean and keep the guests well-fed. We really enjoyed our breakfasts and dinner here on the amazing rooftop patio, with the best view of the lotus tower. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with cool AC and hot showers. Look no further for the best place to begin or end your Sri Lanka adventure.

Not a hotel accommodation but a genuine and authentic experience. This small hotel offers what no other hotel can offer, a look into Sri Lanka familiy live, culture and cuisine. Room is great with beautifull views and having the chance to enjoy true Sri Lankan homecooking is priceless. If this is not enough, the owners are a highly educated and international experienced couple able and willing to have a real conversation, no religuous/cultural/monetary obstacles but open and honest.

This is a nice small,clean hotel in a very convenient location. Perfect for exploring the city and also planning your moves around the island. Good value for the price paid. The Manager and Stanley and entire team were exceptional. Warm, welcoming and did everything possible to make one feel comfortable. Enjoyed the stay at this hotel.
