i loved my stay in Gabaa! Aesthetic place surrounded by forests where you can enjoy symptomy of birds all day long. I enjoyed it so much that I extended my stay. I will never forget taking a dip in pool after a long day of visiting ancient cities. There was silence, serenity and two monkeys playing in the tree. it felt surreal! 😍 Prabat is THE BEST CHEF in whole Habarana! make sure to stay in for dinner and ask him to prepare his famous chicken curry! service was super Kind and helpful - Thank you for making my stay unforgettable.

The place is way beyond every expectation and the hosts are the most amazing couple we could ever meet! I would need an entire book to list everything that impressed us positively. The accomodation is really cozy and super comfortable and the setting is magical, really quiet and immerse in nature. The breakfast, all home made, was delicious and Dammika was incredibly kind to come and pick us up at the train station. Will never recommend this place enough, I’m so thankful! Can’t wait to come back

We had such a memorable 1 days here. Maleesha was quick to respond to every message and made check-in super easy. The accommodation is stylish and unusual, with a round house and outdoor bathrooms that felt very special. The property is big, green, and full of wildlife. We enjoyed relaxing by the pool and listening to the sounds of nature. prepared a barbecue for us one night which was delicious, and the breakfast spread each morning was also excellent. Everything felt very homely, and we appreciated the kindness of everyone. Highly recommend staying here

Our stay at Pearl in the Jungle was nothing short of amazing! The private pool was a luxurious touch, and the cozy jungle setting made for such a tranquil escape. A big thank you to Mr. Ajith and Sameera for their excellent service and for organizing a memorable safari and sightseeing tour. The meals were delicious—especially the breakfast! This place offers the perfect combination of comfort, nature, and great hospitality. Can’t wait to come back again!

Location is calm and peaceful. They have a nice infinity swimming pool overlooking lake , Staff is so welcoming and well trained. Good restaurant and good sitting places. Rooms are spacious and kept very neat and tidy. The sunset view is absolutely amazing from room and pool this hotel. Totally worth the money.

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by our incredible hosts, Madhu, her husband and Komari. The hotel is nestled in a beautiful, calm location with a spice garden, created by our lovely hosts, outside of busy and loud Habarana. The room was clean and spacious with a balcony, modern aircondition and very good  water pressure. A short swimming in the pool in the morning was a fantastic way to start a long, hot day. It is just a short walk from the property. They are building a pool on the property right now (september 2025). The food was absolutely delicious — authentic Sri Lankan flavors at it's best. Madhu and Komari are great cooks and prepared all kinds of delicious traditional dishes with so much knowledge and love. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner for five days and they were happy to show us  the incredible variety of Srilankan food. Certainly the best food experience we had on our trip! What truly made the experience special was their extraordinary kindness and hospitality. They did everything to make us feel like home. Thank you and ayubowan, Madhu and her kind husband, Komari and the rest of the crew, for making our trip so memorable. We hope to come back to this wonderful place. Highly recommended!

Best rooms we had in Sri Lanka. Spacious and modern. Clean property. The owner and is used to be a chef. He cooked us dinner and breakfast and it was delicious. Owners are nice. The owner allowed our kids to feed the fish.

Sky Forest Lovely hotel in the forest, away from the noise of the highway. We had a lovely big room on stilts, overlooking the forest. Lots of birds, lots of privacy, super balcony to watch nature passing by. People are friendly, helpful and speak good English. The help in any way they can and organize walks in the vicinity. Meals are excellent.

Habarana is a small town located at a crossroads and a main road. It is therefore very accessible to other important cities, such as Polonnaruwa, Trincomalee, Dambulla, Anuradhapura, Sigiriya, etc. As well as to the natural parks, which are located nearby. Public transport is perfectly provided. The town has the necessary facilities such as shops, a bank, a post office, a doctor, etc. The beautiful surrounding nature, and easily accessible lakes, are also an advantage.

Farm Cottage was peaceful and very comfortable. The room was clean and cozy, and the surroundings were quiet and relaxing. The host was friendly and helpful. A perfect place to unwind – I’d definitely stay again!

Good location to visit the National parks where Elephants...

Good location to visit the National parks where Elephants roam. Take a short drive to Ritigala and be amazed at the heritage site of a millenia old large forest monastery. Dine at the Ran Rasa restaurant for one of the best Chicken Koththus you will taste..

Beautiful jungle surrounds. Lots of activities. Safari doesn't tell you about all the extra costs involved. Entry fee big. Tip for animal spotter. The Harabana lake cruise is brilliant. No motor just a gentle paddle, allowing you get up close to wildlife

There are loads to do in Habarana.

There are loads to do in Habarana. Nice places to eat and drink. One unexpected pleasure was the village safari. You go for a ride on a old tractor, then a lovely boat ride across the lake. You are then shown the old traditional way of preparing and make food. Also shown other local crafts.

The owner of the hotel ensures that you don't lack anything and does his utmost to help you. And the price for what you get is also really great. Apart from that, due to its central location, Habanara is ideal for visiting the lion rock in Sigiriya and caves in Dambulla (we did this by tuktuk tour, but you can do this by bus), but also the temples of Polonnaruwa (we did this by bus). And of course the national parks located near Habarana itself (we did this by tour provided by hotel itself).

Usually I stay in cheap hotels so I used to get a little comfort and care, but not in this case. Host are very caring, he guided me through the activities, always wanted to help. He suggested to go on safary for cheaper prices and to the cultural centre of Habarana (both were amazinfg). Room was clean and good (look like like a room for $40 but costs only $12), there was good breakfast and clean drinking water. Wifi also was good.

Vimal and his family are the best hosts you could ask for. They are generous, helpful, and will be one of the highlights of your time in Sri Lanka. Make sure to check with them first before you book safaris or other activities in the area — Dinu will most likely be able to get you a better deal with a better operator. The property is immaculate, and Habarana makes a great base for the cultural triangle.

Really good location for Central habarana walking distance to habarana Lake and 10 minute tuk tuk ride to train station. Trains going direct to Trinco or Colombo when we were there. Staff at hotel really nice, food great and rooms clean.
