The host, Hansitha was very friendly and lovely. The location is also super convenient, close to the beach, restaurants, bus and train stations. However, the whole area is very calm and quiet. The cleanliness of the room and shared kitchen were maintained perfectly. Amazing two day stay. See you again!

Very quiet and nice place. Located right on the bank of the river. You can go kayaking. The hosts are very hospitable. The room is clean, comfortable bed, air conditioning works well. Very tasty Sri Lankan breakfast. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Everything was wonderful. Be prepared to be stunned when you first see the beach view. Food was excellent. Breakfast had a wide choice prepared to a high standard. Staff were very helpfull. A real touch of Sri Lankan beauty.

We stayed for 6 nights at plantation house and loved this hotel. It was a wonderful place to relax after a few weeks travelling around Sri lanka. Peter was a brilliant host and we loved the beautiful breakfasts on the terrace. The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean as are the grounds and lovely swimming pool. It’s in a lovely peaceful location, an easy 10 minute walk to the beach/ small supermarket and main road or easy to arrange a tuk tuk further into Hikkaduwa town. We had a great time and highly recommend!

Hikkaduwa is one of the best tourist beach spots with...

Hikkaduwa is one of the best tourist beach spots with friendly and helpful local people. The weather is cool even though we had some rain, but we stayed at the villa on the balcony watching people fishing kayaking and canoeing down the River. The beach area has some unique fresh seafood restaurants, surfing, snorkeling and you can even rent out glass-bottomed boat to see underwater world. There is also a Turtle Hatchery here and Tsunami museum for tourists. Beach is very clean.

Selection of accommodation options are many to suit your budget. Most of the properties are on the beach and with great ocean front views. You can enjoy variety of cuisines in many restaurants located close by.

Hikkaduwa has fabulous beaches but when we stayed in March...

Hikkaduwa has fabulous beaches but when we stayed in March the flags were up for no swimming as the waves were so big. This was not a problem for us as we did not want to swim particularly but people that want to snorkeor have young children that want to swim may be disappointed. Great to be close to Galle but be in a quieter location. Aboit 20 mins by car. Lots of little bars and places to eat along the beach. Beaches are quiet and less full of tourist than Galle. There are quite a few stray dogs (everywhere in Sri Lanka) which don't bother you but do be mindful that they may go to the toilet on the beach so watch where you tread!!!

The water temp was nice, waves for surfing & plenty of shops & restaurants to choose from. Close proximity to Galle by bus & snorkelling at ant of the beaches to see colourful fish + turtles.

I was away for 44 nights in the sun.

I was away for 44 nights in the sun. Swimming reading away from a cold winter. What else can you ask for. Got good food good people. Beautiful beaches, so many beautiful things to see. Fish everywhere, sharks ( baby ones) turtles. Elephants safari the place is awesome.

We travelled in Sri Lanka for one month and FnR was our favourite place to stay.. the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, we felt very at home with them. The chef is very talented and made the best curries we had tasted, breakfast was delicious :) the hotel itself was very beautiful and clean, in such a lovely location.. on the beach, but not in a busy spot so you can enjoy peace and quiet outside the hotel. We can’t wait to come back one day!

The only place you need to stay when you are in Hikkaduwa! Beautiful newly built hotel with a private pool and stunning views over the rice fields. Located 1km walking distance from the beach in a very peaceful and lush area. The owners Åsa and Chilli are the most friendly people that will make sure you have a fantastic stay. The breakfasts are fantastic!

Very welcoming hotel with plenty of choice for breakfast, freshly cooked and prepared for us. Great location to Hikkaduwa and beach. The family rooms were so spacious on their beautiful large roof terrace. Ideal for our family for 5 nights in April. Highly recommend.
